I need help from anyone who''s ever thrown a baby shower!

We are putting together a somewhat last minute baby shower for my friend (who thought she would not be able to have one because she was on bed rest for a while.) The shower is tomorrow, and I think I have the food covered, etc.

Any suggestions/help on activities or games? We have a mixed group, some guys, some girls, a couple of older guests, and about 10-12 people total.

THANKS!

Funny, I still have access to print from this website until 3/29!

I think I bought the 75 games for $15.95.

There are a lot of good games to choose from and all you need are their printouts and a pencil.

Voila!!! Instant baby shower.

Good Luck

yeah I did a google search on baby shower games and there are a ton.

Will the father-to-be be there too? At my sister''s recent one, it was a mixed group, and they did games to see who''d be the better parent - my sister or her husband.

The did a baby food taste off, where they had to write down what flavors they thought a group of 8-10 baby foods were

The had a "diapering fast" race with baby diapers and stuffed animals

And a "suck off" where they had to drink the contents of a baby bottle (apple juice) through the nipple as fast as possible.

It was fun!

I have given a baby shower as well as several bridal showers. I have never experienced games at either type of shower. Between the eating and the opening of gifts, there was never time for that! In other words, any entertainment you offer beyond gifts and food is more than I have ever seen, so relax!!!

Let us know how it goes!

a couple favorites....

take little fabric squares and fold them up into a diaper.....now on one of the squares you are going to put a squirt of mustard on the inside ( the poo poo). Then wrao it up and pin it shut with a safety pin. Then when guests arrive pin one on each persons shirt. Later on ask them to open up the diapers and the person who has the poo poo one wins a small gift.

Baby food.....not tasting it, thats nasty! Just take about 10 different jars of food, take the labels off of them , number them from 1-10, and then have people look at them and guess what they are. Person with the most correct wins a prize.

Saftey pins- give each person a large safety pin with 4 or 5 small pins hanging from it. They put it on their shirt. Any time thru out the shower if they see someone crossing their legs, they get to go up to them and "take" one of their saftey pins away and add it to theirs. The person with the most wins!

Here are the games that I can remember at my baby shower.
1- Everyone had to cut a piece of string to the exact measure of my belly and whoever came closest won something.

2- Safety pins where placed in a bowl of rice and whoever scooped out the most, won a prize.

3- They had a baby bag filled with baby stuff and everyone had to write on a piece of paper what they thought was in the bag and whoever got the most items won.

4- Everyone had to write on a piece of paper what they thought my due date was and whoever guessed it won a prize.

5- I had to put a bunch of names (20) into a bag including the name I wanted to pick for the baby and everyone had to pick out a name and whoever got the name won a prize.

6- The baby food one mentioned above.

I usually despise baby shower games unless I''m with the right bunch of people...but the last I went to had a really fun one that I didn''t expect to like...we each got a piece of Bubble Yum gum (old fashion sugar gum) and a paper plate...the mom to be left the room and we each molded the unchewed gum into a baby, and the mom-to-be had to come back in and choose a "winner" from the display. It sounds so silly, but people came up with insanely great sculptures! I did a naked baby laying face down with its bum in the air...the winner made a little swaddled babe with a pacifier in its mouth...

I tell you, it was fun, and totally low stress...

One of my favorite games for showers, kids'' parties, etc. is "memory." You place about 20-30 (or however many you want) items, in this case, baby related, on a table/tray/cart, and let the crowd view them for several minutes, then cover it or take it away and have people write down the items they remember. Whoever remembers the most items wins. It isn''t terribly creative, but it''s a fun game!

Thank you soooo much for all of the suggestions! We tried several of them out yesterday and the shower was a success!
