Hello,

Just wanted to get a general poll. DH and I will be travelling to a wedding this weekend. Unfortunately our infant (4 m.o.) son cannot attend, so we're hiring a sitter.

Questions:
1) Do we pay for the sitter's parking if he/she drives to the hotel and has to park?
2) Do we pay for a meal for the sitter? Room service? Pizza delivery?
3) We'll probably be returning after midnight. I feel "irresponsible" sending a young woman home after midnight on the T or bus. Am I just being too sensitive?

Thanks,
LC

1) Yes, especially since this would solve #3 as well.
2)What are the hours you will be gone? If it's a pretty long time, then yes, I'd pay for some sort of meal. It would sort of suck to be stuck from say, 5pm until midnight, without access to food.
3) See #1. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry...this is up to her.

Judging by the use of "the T," I'm guessing you'll be in Boston. We hired a sitter in Boston for DS when he was about 2 months old. We paid for her hotel parking and she ordered room service on us. It was expensive when it was all said and done, but worth the piece of mind and easy access to the baby.

ETA: Our "sitter" was a woman in her late 20s who had worked as a nanny for a friend of mine. I think because of her age and experience it never dawned on me to worry about #3. Just make sure your sitter is comfortable with it.

I agree with AMC.

Have fun at the wedding!
