Hey guys! I got engaged on Saturday the 25th!!!! It was SOOOOOO beyond perfect.
It was all a series of well thought out events. He secretly got a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure and had my mom take me so that I wouldn't suspect anything. He set up a sort of "scavenger hunt" of places that were meaningful in our relationship. He had a single rose in a vase at each location with a card, which directed me to the next location. He asked me to meet him for dinner at this place that we always go to because I had told him I was hungry and so I didn't think anything of it. I went to meet him and he wasn't there so I called him and he directed me where to go in the restaurant, and when I got there, instead of him being there, there was the first single rose in a vase. The card said some really sweet things, including the fact that this restaurant is where we had our first date, and the table which the rose was on is where we sat. Then, the card directed me to the next place. When I got there, my sister was there watching the next rose until I got it. I read the card and was directed to the next place, where my best friend's bf was waiting watching the next 2 roses. The card directed me to the next place, where my best friend was waiting watching the next rose. The card drected me to go to the beach at the lake in the back of that neighborhood. I went there and walked to the beach where my SO was waiting and he had a whole set up on the beach with bouquets of my favorite flowers (roses and lillys) and then the final single rose in the final vase. He also had my favorite wine there (which I later found out that he went to several places to find it) and wine glasses. I opened the last card which said "This is where you said '___' " and he got on his knee and proposed. It was the SWEETEST THING EVER! My best friend and her bf were taking pics of the whole thing, which I had told him forever ago that it would be so cool if we could have pictures. Then we enjoyed a glass of wine while the sun was setting. Then, he took me to this fabulous restaurant downtown which I have always wanted to go to, on top of a sky-scraper which is a Westin hotel. Dinner was wonderful and then I found out that he booked a room in the hotel below which is a reallllly nice hotel and he had champage and chocolate covered strawberries there. We had breakfast in bed the next morning and, IF THIS WASN'T ALL ENOUGH, he took me to my favorite state park in the mountains where this waterfall is and to the pumpkin patch we go to every year. IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH!!!! He had made prior arrangements for a photographer to come and meet us there (which was a good hour drive for the photographer) to take our engagement photos!!!!!!!!
I am so excited and SOOOOO on cloud 9...and SOOO lucky to have such a WONDERFUL NEW FIANCE!!!
The photographer took professional pics of my ring which I will post as soon as I get them. Until then...I will post a few pics of the set up and one or two amateur photos of my ring. If I can figure out how to post pics....
