Back from Spring Break with no diamond

I am new to LIW but I am so disappointed I had to post. We had been planning for months to go to GOG on our Spring Break and had contacted them over a month in advance to start looking for asschers in our price/spec range. When we would try and get updates Tim would say "oh, I''ll start looking for those now". Jonathan assured us that they were getting new diamonds in and Tim would send us the information. Well finally the day before we were set to go up there Tim sends us 2 diamond stats and pictures, neither of which knocked my socks off. I guess I had unreasonable expectations, but I thought after more than a month of looking there would be more options. I am just so disappointed because even if they found more diamonds we wouldn''t be able to go up until May. I had literally been looking forward to this for months, and now it seems like this will never happen. We are going to start looking around locally but I am crushed. I know I am starting to be short with my BF because of this because I feel like he should be more upset, like I am. Ugh, I guess I just needed to vent. This diamond stuff can make you crazy!

Oh Indecisive, I would be let down too. If you gave them that much notice and were very specifics about what you were looking for I would have expected photos/info much sooner. I am sorry that you were faced with such a disappointment. I would continue looking at GOG, but I would also look at other vendors, I worked with Whiteflash and I am very fond my stone.
If you would like for the folks her to help post what you are looking for and I will see what can be found. The people here on Pricescope are helpful, and thorough!

Thanks Matatora. Pricescope people are so great and have helped so much. We are going to see what Quest can come up with, they are the ones making the setting, and if that is a no go then we are going to start re-looking at WF and maybe GOG again. I know I am being impatient but I was just looking forward to going up there so much!! Plus, my bf has said that once the ring is done he doesn''t want to have it a long time before he proposes, so now it feels like forever away! It really helps just to have some sympathizers!! Thanks so much!

Thanks you guys! I really do think things happen but I am getting so discouraged. I am at the point where I just want us to stop looking for the perfect diamond and just get what we can. My bf doesn''t feel that way but UGH. I just want to be engaged. I know I need to be patient (maybe I need a patience pill like that other thread talked about!) but I just don''t know how to wait any longer. I probably sound like I am going crazy and I probably am seeing as I should be studying for an exam but instead I am posting on a diamond message board. How does everyone do it?? I need waiting tips!!

Heh. I do that too. I''m sorry I''m not much help; I''m waiting for my SO to buy the diamond and setting I chose (before the diamond gets sold to someone else!!

) and I''m going pretty insane myself!

Hi indecisive!!! I feel your pain!!! It''s very frustrating to have your heart set on something and then not get it. Just this week bf and I were looking at a ring in an estate sale, and I had my heart set on it, it was everything I had been looking for and at a great price...but it sold before he could buy it...I was sooooooo bummed, and started taking it out on him...we have a very limited budget and it''s just really frustrating...I don''t even care about an engagement ring, from the beginning I told him I didn''t care if I even had one or not...but he''s insistent on it, and that it be the best ring he can buy...which just means it will take longer...more time to save up money...and I just want it done already!!!!! I told him last night that I just wnated to take whatever money he had a buy the best ring we could with that and be done with it...He wouldn''t hear of it...says I''m worth more than that...and that I just need to patient...and all that timing talk that I really don''t want to hear about at that time...anyway...sorry to vent but I know how you feel, and I''m sorry you have to go through it too!!!
