Hello everyone, to understand my situation, and before following this new message, please read my last writing. on my old post!

https://www.pricescope.com/communit...-about-these-rubys.244186/page-2#post-4459673

Here I am now looking for a sapphire after a mishap with a ruby (explanation on my old post)

I wanted to know your opinion in general about this blue sapphire of 4.35 carats, it underwent a heat treatment (heated only)

the seller offers me 3500 eur / cts, is it a fair price ??

Why is this titled "Bad sapphire?" And it's a bit over $17,000, but you're on a reduced budget? o_O

I am also confused about this post, and about the previous thread.

@MrsKMB @lovedogs

Hello,

I should have put a question mark on "bad sapphire" instead of putting an exclamation mark, because that's a question I'm asking you, it's a mistake on my part .:sick:

You are confused because you have not read THE LAST MESSAGE of my former post! read like that you will understand.

Does this new stone has a certificate? Any proof that it's only heated vs other treatment?

@lovedogs

I have not seen it yet, it is being manufactured, it is an EGL certificate from Sri Lanka.

Je ne l'ai pas encore vu, il est en cours de fabrication, il s'agit d'un certificat EGL du Sri Lanka.

I did read it. You're buying a car. And you're on a reduced budget, which is why I questioned if this stone was really $17000 USD.

The stone's being manufactured, but you have a video? :confused:

How is it being manufactured if it already has a certificate and you already have a video?

MrsKMB

so either I'm stupid, or the translation of google translation is not good at all (yes I'm French I do not speak English)

or you did it on purpose ...

Lovedogs asks me if the sapphire has a certificate that I answer, that it is being manufactured or certified if you prefer

Le CERTIFICAT est en cours de fabrication

poor understanding of things

the certificate is being manufactured
I never said that the sapphire been in the making lol
how could I have provided you with videos if the sapphire was not ready ??

This is my take on this funny thread. @tarte was originally looking at VERY expensive 4 - 5 carat Burmese unheated rubies. He has since changed his mind about the rubies, and instead is buying a car and a much less expensive sapphire. :lol: But I could be wrong....
Also, he is waiting for the EGL/Sri Lanka Cert and he mistakenly put an exclamation point instead of a question mark in the title. LOL
The sapphire is very nice but I'll have to let others comment about the pricing.

I'm so over this.

Hi suzanne2

Hi suzanne2

if you turn the situation to the irony, you will add a bit of cheerfulness here, thank you for that I do not understand too the reasoning of Mrs KMS yes you were wrong, you misunderstood there is no harm to that. I want answers to my questions, I'm not here to take my head with nonsense.

If you’re seeking good advice here, it’s better to have a gentle tone. People here are very sharp and will point out things that don’t make sense. That’s our job! You’re not the only person here for whom English is a second or third language, you’ll just have to be patient and give more explanation. Imo, this sapphire is overpriced for 3-4 carats but it’s beautiful.

Hi peacechick

Thank you for your message and for your very good approach, if I was mean I apologize, we are not approached as you did with tact and politeness, my English level is very bad, but we all a common passion here on this forum its jewels, we must not "love" but I pledge to respect each person on this forum. Respect begins with politeness. I was personally hurt by MrsKMB.

how much should I pay for such a stone ??

Is the EGL Sri Lanka certificate reliable?

does he have a relationship with EGL USA ??

@peacechick

I forgot the sapphire made 4.35 carats

@MrsKMB was only asking a question, because the post was confusing. She did not try to insult you. I hope you do find the sapphire you want.

Just my 2 cents: Seeing some extinction in the stone, not ideal even in this size. 3500 eur/ct seems way too high for a heated Sri Lanka sapphire. And the lack of a better certificate like AGL, GIA or even GRS seems a little suspicious. Hope this helps.

Now that I have more info, I think this is overpriced, and you can find better for the price. Especially without a more reputable lab report, I wouldn't be willing to pay that much for a stone that wasn't 100% perfect .

Edit. @MrsKMB was confused by your post, as was I . She was never rude or hurtful, and I honestly don't know why you got so upset and defensive.

@lovedos
Let's forget what happened and no hard feelings

@lovedogs

ok so the sapphire is not worth asking price, how much should I pay for it 5000 usd ??

your opinions to all make me doubt, I will negotiate with the seller, or can I buy another sapphire ??

@vik84

Je ne savais pas que l'extinction d'une pierre précieuse réduisait considérablement la valeur de la pierre

extinction signifie "une partie du saphir qui brille moins" ??

@vik84

I did not know that the extinction of a gemstone greatly lowered the value of the stone

extinction means "part of sapphire shining less" ??

please can you show me a sapphire that will come closest to "the ideal" for you.

This is a recent thread that talks about pricing within your range:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/on-the-search-for-a-3ct-blue-sapphire.241304/

The poster said she was offered stones that cost as much as $14,000. She eventually bought a sapphire that was under 3 cts and less than $10,000. There is no exact science to how much to pay. Also, everyone’s idea of perfect color is different. If you feel you may not find another sapphire as beautiful as this 4 ct stone, it may be worth the price to you.

@peacechick

I find it all the same beautiful sapphire, it has a beautiful color in a beautiful bright blue, a beautiful transaprence, extinction annoys me a little, but most of the sapphires that I saw one extinction as minimal is -she.
