Based on the numbers, did I make the right choice?

Last week I purchased an ACA, but have a nagging concern. I chose the 2.76ct H. The F was/is a strong choice, as well. The H has a larger table, the F has a smaller table. Both videos look gorgeous to me. I think colorwise, I’ll be fine. I’ve gone to look at GIA/AGS H color in person. Can someone good with numbers tell me the benefits/cons to each stone??

The standards for an ACA are incredibly high, so undoubtedly both will be gorgeous. I would have done the same and gone for the bigger stone. I don't see any issues at all with the numbers on the H, and the pics/video look lovely.

I, too, would have gone with the H … for the size, clarity and slightly fatter arrows (which you can see better with a larger table). It’s an ACA — it (like other comparable super-ideals) is going to perform better than 99% of diamonds in the world.

If you’re seriously second-guessing your choice and/or want peace of mind in your decision, perhaps send the ‘H’ back to WF & ask them to do a side-by-side comparison video of the two diamonds (if you didn’t already before buying the ‘H’), and they’ll give you their thoughts on any differences in performance they see aside from any obvious tint/color difference. I’ve found their opinions honest & objective in all of my dealings with them.

I think you'll be fine...they both face up extremely white, and the H has a 40.7/34 PA/CA combo which will lean slightly towards brilliance.

No doubt they will both be beautiful! As with so many of the details we labor over here, it only matters if you can see a difference in real life or you need something to be mind clean. Here are the pros and cons that I would be weighing.

F
smaller table and steeper crown should lead to a stone with a good balance of fire and brightness
Smaller table creates smaller table facet reflection in the center of the stone
Should be very white from all angles
smaller, of course

H
larger table with shallower crown will contribute to more brightness and less fire than above(as Dejawiz said)
Larger table shows larger table relection
Will appear warmer at times and at certain angles
larger, of course

Edited to add: I saw you just got that beautiful five stone in EF. That may be something to think about if you'll be wearing them together either on the same hand or different hands.

This is going to be stunning! Can’t wait to see!

Well, there's a major difference in size, so a lot depends on what you were aiming for in terms of size! My studs are ACA H color, and they are nice and bright. I like the color even though they aren't what you'd call icy white. I think the brightness from the tiny bit larger table on the H is a good thing. I wouldn't hesitate to look at it if you want that size! M-2-b recently upgraded to a 5 ct H and she is delighted with the color! You might want to check out her thread:

(There's also a 2.4 G VS2, but I am assuming you want VS1)

Not to confuse things but they have something in the middle size-wise and color-wise.

I looked at that stone, but Michelle said it wasn’t eye clean to my standards. Thank you!

I would prefer a VS1, the 2.4 was not eyeclean to my standards…. Thank you for the thread!

ETA: The H is a tiny bit of a leap for me. I felt good about it when looking with my eyes, but now that I’m waiting to see it finished, I’m having second thoughts. Not sure I really need ”icy white”. White may be good enough. I have an eternity band of 8 pointers, that I’d like to wear with it. They are F in color.

Thank you, all, for the thoughts. As with any purchase of this amount, it’s nice to have a balanced view. I think I’ll relax a bit and focus on enjoying the process. I think I picked a great stone!

This H stone will be my first. My other stones are E/F. (Studs, eternity, 5 stone) I won’t be wearing the 5-stone on the same hand, but plan to wear them at the same time. I have an eternity 8 pointers in F that I will wear with this stone. Im hopeful it will look nice. Trust me, I’ll be scrutinizing the 2 together when I get the new ring!

How exciting! Enjoying the process is always a great attitude to take.
I’m looking forward to seeing it. No doubt it will be amazing and you’ll know within a day or two if you love it. I’m loving my G, but am thinking an F might be my sweet spot.

The great thing is that you are not stuck if you change your mind at any point! You can always move up to F or G later when new stones come in! I've upgraded my studs about 4 times!

I‘ve been keeping this in mind! It may be easier on my hubby to do it in stages, as well…!

cant wait to see your new ring! I was in a similar struggling, LOL.
I am a newbie learner so not able to give comments but I love your pick ! I would pick the 2.7ct H between these two as well
