So I did a thing bc yellow gold craving hit me. I blame singlestone IG, lol.
K. So I reset my 2.9 E si1 in an old chunky halo but gold plated it. See for yourself. I’m almost thinking that the prongs should have stayed white but I wanted to see if by using gold, the stone would stand out against the halo.

ETA: I couldn’t edit my poll question but it was supposed to ask which color makes my stone appear more colorless? Does the yellow make my E look tinted? So I added the question to ask which color looks better. Lol

I know this wasn’t listed in the options, but would it be possible to do a yellow gold ring, but keep the halo white gold? I think the yellow gold looks lovely on you, though I think the white gold would be more flattering to your E colored diamond since it’s such a high color grade.

I picked white gold because it makes your diamond look bigger and brighter, but the yellow gold really suits your skin tone. I think best of both worlds would be to have white gold prongs with yellow gold everywhere else.

This. I love the yellow gold with your skin tone, but I personally like your diamond with the white gold pronts/halo.

I think white gold suits your stone more than the yellow. I mean, it’s an E, so it’s going to look white either way. But in the WG it looks bigger and brighter and pops more. I do think YG looks good against your skin, but that doesn’t suit your stone as much. I’d do the halo and prongs in WG and band in YG (two tone look) if you really want YG in your ring.

I really do like yellow gold and yellow gold looks lovely on you but I feel with an all-pave setting like you have that your
stone looks best in white gold. Can you have the prongs for your stone rhodium plated? That may be a good combo
to give you a little bit of yellow gold but not distract from your stone! Needless to say, your "E" pops in both color settings!

Anyways, I like the new setting, but I prefer it in the white gold. You seems to wear white and yellow equally well, IMHO, and I love the way the diamonds get all the attention without the distraction of yellow gold. However, if you love it, I would at least have the 4 large prongs unplated because the gold makes them look very big.

I like them both but would much prefer the yellow gold setting have white prongs. I think the yellow gold prongs are large and to distracting to the diamond. I love the contrast of white diamonds with yellow gold though!

White gold definitely for your stone particularly if you like it white. Lol the yellow gold is a trend! But maybe if you have a white gold halo/prongs and yellow gold band?

Late to the party poll but just wanted to add that your stone looks gorgeous and ginormous in both colors

I'm a huge yellow gold fan, as everybody knows. HOWEVER - for your gorgeous ring, I think white metals look better. It might be because of your fabulous skin tone: with my fairly wishy-washy skin tone, I need the warmth of yellow to warm it up. But your skin is so lush looking, and your diamond is so white - you don't need the assistance of yellow gold! So I say all white. Let that baby SHINE!
