After Pictures

The stone is a 3.33 ct emerald set into a setting by Andrew Sarosi. My first thought on opening the package was 'omg that's stunning'. My first thought on trying on the ring 'omg that's frickin huge!' It took about 20 min of wear around the office for me to decide 'well okay, it's not all that big really.' I would have taken more pictures but it was pretty chilly out.

Wow wow wow!
I love it!

That ring looks like its made for royalty! Beautiful!

That's amazing! What a gorgeous color. Is there a story on the stone and old setting?

Pure magic! :appl:

Oh my. Oh...my...That is gorgeous. Amazing!

Kismet it's amazing! Did you decide what to do with all the little diamonds from the original ( I seem to remember you saying they were in very good shape) or did you trade them in to help defray the cost of this new setting?

Huge indeed! I love that it only took you half an hour to get used to it :)

    :cheeky:

THAT IS GORGEOUS!
Wow. Wow. Wow.
One of the most breathtaking things I've been on PS in a minute.

(I actually like the old setting... it in no way compares to the new one, but it's kinda cool, in a retro funky cocktail ring kinda way.)

Have mercy! Incredible!

Beautiful ring, it's very ornated but the glowing emerald fits right in.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I wanted a setting where the gold work was the focus of the setting rather than diamonds and I think this ring captures that.

Selkie - the original ring was bought from Dover Jewelry via one of their ebay auctions. I bought it purely for the emerald since I thought the original setting was hideous. The thread on it can be found here.

maebelle - I still have all the baguette diamonds. I'm thinking they might go well with my Richard Homer red spinel but I haven't decided yet.

Now that's what a call a TRANSFORMATION!!!! Absolutely blew me away that the emerald was so HUGE; it was sort of swallowed up in the older setting! Gorgeous reinvention of a glorious stone!

wow wow WOW That is something else!!! :appl:

Wow! So beautiful! That is amazing! I bet you will have some incredible comments when you wear it.

That's quite a transformation! The after version is absolutely gorgeous!

Wow, what a difference! Your new ring is gorgeous.

That ring is a work of art!

Love the new setting. Gotta soft spot for a gorgeous emerald ring. That is a great statement piece. :appl:

Holy freak my freak! What a transformation. It is gorgeous! You have great taste.

Wow, now that's a transformation! What a beautiful, ornate setting. Perfect for your beautiful emerald

What a beautiful ring!!!
The new setting really makes the emerald pop and come alive

Kismet, this is fantastic! I remember the saga of that ring and how you considered this emerald a significant acquisition (there was a line about siginificant buys). The stone is gorgeous, and looks stunning in its new home! Gorgeous setting!

What a transformation! I remember your original thread, and I'm so glad you found a setting worthy of that beautiful emerald. That's just fabulous! :appl: :appl:

New ring is really a work of art, stunning and beautiful. Enjoy.

Kismet, do you mind if I ask who you ordered the ring through? Or did you go directly to the designer?

I ordered it directly from Andrew Sarosi at the Intergem show back in November (so this project took a long time to complete, much much longer than the other 2 projects I had them do previously.)

Here's a pic to show how high it sits off the finger. This is something new for me since most of my settings are set as low as possible.

Wow amazing ... the detail and design works so well together.
