Attached are some pictures I just received of the e-ring for my girlfriend from the good folks at GOG. I have posted a little (under another, undisclosed name) on this forum but I have taken quite a bit more from it. I have learned a great deal of information from this site and from the people on this forum that has greatly helped in my search for something that will be a part of the rest of my life. So, in return, I would like to share a little bit of the product of quite a bit of decision making, searching, and a big bundle of nerves.

Me likey!

Ignore my drooling Tibbs. It''s beautiful, she will love it!

OMG - it''s beautiful. Just one question - I always thought that a single row of diamonds was known as channel setting and not pave.

love it, love it...that thin pave band. give us some hand shots please....even if they are your hands.

Thats a lovely ring. Good job too.

Pave'' means path and it decribes a row of bead/grain set stones. Channel describes the setting edge being a channel - or two walls of metal.

The setting here is a hybred of claw/prong setting and grain/bead setting.

How beautiful. Be sure to take lots of hand shots when you give it to her

So, I suppose I''ll write a little bit about my search while I am waiting for UPS to show up with it! It''s 10:13 AM ...17 more minutes or it''s late!!! So, I began the process around new years at which point I knew absolutely NOTHING about diamonds. I had heard of the 4 c''s but didn''t really know what they meant, let alone different cuts, cut quality, ideality, etc, etc. So I buckled down and began my research. After about 2 weeks of looking at various sites on the web I stumbled upon PS and thank goodness! I REALLY loved the forums where you could get people''s personal experiences about dealing with different companies and their hardships with finding a good, reputable, source for quality diamonds on the internet. I was impressed with Good Old Gold''s (GOG) track record here on PS and from their website they seemed to carry top-notch diamonds at great prices. I wasn''t a huge fan of their setting selection, but then again I am not a fan of many settings I see in general, but through Ingwer I was able to find exactly what I wanted. I am sure GOG could have done some sourcing for me if I wanted another setting but that wasn''t necessary.

Anyway, the diamond was something they had in stock so all I had to really wait for was for them to receive the setting. I was greatly impressed by and have heard great things about their H&A cushion collection (my gf has her heart set on a cushion). The pricing is a bit higher than a "normal" cushion with the same certification stats but I believe that the cut is far superior to what one would typically get from ordering a cushion from another source, hence the price premium. The cut, from what the folks at GOG have told me and from what I have learned elsewhere, put these diamonds in a class of their own, despite their "lower" color values from what I was originally looking for (D-F).

So, now I just wait...10 more minutes! Gah! Hurry up already!

I LOVE it! Congratulations on designing a very beautiful ring. Your GF will flip!

Is it there yet? Pictures? When will we be getting to see hand pics?
