I have a pair of the little Brian Gavin diamond leverback huggies that they don't sell anymore and I bent one of the curved areas yesterday trying to put it through a piercing that hadn't been used in a while.

I bent it back with my finger and it goes in the leverback ok, is that ok or do I need to take it somewhere to do anything with it? Would I be in danger of the metal breaking later since it got bent?

Thanks for any opinions!!

I have the same earrings and have had the same issue. They're really hard to put in, aren't they? I've not had any integrity issues from bending it back in place and it has been over a year. I don't know if we should be worried but I'm sure someone does. :)

Thank you so much for your reply, it makes me feel so much better to know it's not just me! I did not realize that my piercing had just about closed up so I had pushed it pretty hard. It bent upwards and I just bent it back down and had to bend a little to the side to line it back up with the closing mechanism.

I really don't have any other lever back so was hoping someone with jewelry knowledge would tell me whether to just keep wearing or get them checked out.

The same thing happened to mine..I sent it to David Klass along with other repairs. He just bent it back. As long as the wire is strong enough to bend back.. it should be fine.

Thank you! I thought about sending it to David but it seems to be in good shape right now, if it goes out of shape further or breaks I will send it out there and have him fix it. I also do have some older gold charms I have been thinking to have him fix so maybe I will send this earring out there with them eventually.

Thank you for the advice, sounds like this is a common issue with these.

Thank you so much! First time happening to me so I was freaking out!!
