When I propose, I want the ring to take her breath away. The diamond is certainly up to the task (thanks Jonathan!), but what lighting would you recommend for maximum visual performance. I don''t know exactly how/where/when I''ll propose, or if I''ll even have any control at all over the lighting. But I''d like to at least consider it. It will probably be evening/night, so natural sunlight may not be an option (but not sure yet). What do you guys suggest?

Candlelight of course!

Makes sense - Seems like that would really bring out the fire in the diamond,
but it wouldn't blow you away with brilliance.

Any other good lighting conditions you guys can think of?

Look for a place with a lot little sources of light (like little halogen lamps).

I have happily studied my diamond under many different lighting conditions over the past few weeks, and I have come to the conclusion that it looks best ouside in the shade on a sunny day.

get one of those little ring boxes with a light attached inside and do it in the dark-flip open the box and the light will be just on the ring-fabulous!

Two words...TRACK LIGHTING!!!

There is this one restaurant that has mostly track lighting and without fail their waitresses always exclaim about how amazing my ring is. It hands-down is the best lighting conditions I have EVER seen my stone perform in. Amazing. Fire, brilliance, bright flashes...its swoonable. So find a restaurant with track lighting and you are all set!

Haaa.

Bathroom white lights are absolutely beautiful too on diamonds. Though not exactly romantic!
