I would love to have a nice pair of blue sapphires to set in custom earrings, looking for recommendations as to where to find high quality stones

Thanks!

Do you know what size stones you'd want? Inken of Enhoerning Jewelry has a nice pair, and Yvonne of Cecile Raley Designs would probably have a pair as well.

what do y'all think is a good size per sapphire if I want to halo them? I was thinking just below a carat each but I do like smaller earrings

are you looking at the 0.80 ct pair on the enhoerning site? the color on those is pretty and they measure about 4.2, a halo would extend that

maybe I am looking too bid at just under a carat each for earrings if I want to halo them

the color on that pair is pretty and they are unheated

Imo 4-5mm is a good size if you plan to put a halo around them and want to stay on the smaller side. Then the earrings would be 7-8mm across, depending on the size of the halo gems you prefer.

thank you for the advice, I think I have been looking at stone pairs that were too big for how I want to style them

Yeah, that's the pair I was thinking of. Also, for colored gems, mm size matters more than ct size, since colored gems don't have a standard cut, and the same ct size gem might face up small (cut deeper) or big (cut shallower).

Ok thank you for letting me know that, this is my first colored gemstone purchase for a project so I definitely did not know that

I have only bought diamond studs in the past
