best way to sell preloved jewels

Hi everybody. I am new to the pricescope community and have a few questions for anyone who cares to help out. I have a few nice pieces of jewelry that I no longer have a need for. I am trying to figure out if it would be better to put them in a jewelry consignment shop or sell them outright. Don't care to go the e-bay route. But I don't understand what the difference is between items I have seen listed for sale here on this site and loupetroop. Can someone explain that to me and give me some info on my choices ?
