Hey busy PS sellers?

Do you ship to Canada from the US? What is your method? Priority Express insured with signature? $600 item.

Thanks for the help!

You can get $500 of insurance through Canada post MAX for jewelery. If you want more insurance, I like to use www.shipsurance.com.. You can buy a one-time private insurance with coverage up to $1000 for a very good price. I read the policy and its good coverage (or was, I have no used it in about a year).

I prefer to ship Express Post. Mark the package "Adornment, US made", which is accurate for customs but won't attract too much attention. You will need a receipt of sale to prove the value of the contents (like the paypal invoice you sent the buyer) in the event of a loss in transit.

WHOOPS I thought you wrote FROM Canada TO US. Nevermind! There is still a $500 limit on insurance ,though, because once things hit the border the Canadian postal system and limits kick in. So Shipsurance is still a good idea.

I'm not a seller, but I'm a Canadian who loves to shop :naughty: For items above $400 USD, USPS Priority Express with third party insurance has worked well; insurepost.com is the sister site to shipinsurance.com, and some of my sellers used it as opposed to the USPS insurance. Thankfully, I/we have never had to go through a claims process (*knock on wood*).

As Dreamer_D said, declaring items as "Adornment, USA made" is accurate & legal for customs purposes, but also doesn't attract unwanted attention from people with sticky fingers.
