It's me again, lol. A really long time ago I decided to send my GIA 1.76, F, VS2 RB to BGD for a recut so that I could upgrade with them to a larger stone. Well, that all happened and I did upgrade to a 2.25 carat, G, VS1. I wore it for a short while and knew it wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong, the diamond itself was gorgeous, but it was too big for every day for my lifestyle. I almost set it in a 3 stone with round sides, then it went to VC to be set in his Trilogy with pears, then I thought about sending it to Rebecca Overmann, then it was with Jonathan for awhile to consign, and then I decided I didn't want to part with it because it was sentimental, LOL. If you've read any of my other threads you'll get the idea that I may be a bit non-committal and indecisive :? .

I am SO glad I kept this stone as I just adore it. It's the perfect size for me for every day wear and it sparkles like mad after the recut. It ended up a 1.61, E, VS2 by AGS and is a BGD Signature stone now. One odd thing I noticed is that the star facets seem larger to me after the recut. I'm not sure if that is truth or not, but I see each facet flash on and off and sparkle and it makes me so happy, LOL.

I had it set in a simple four prong solitaire by Caysie and I adored it. Adored it. Alas, I kept knocking it against things and scraping it and it would scare the heck out of me. I decided to bezel it and sent it to Erika Winters for her Jin but with a round outline. The Jin is so beautiful, but I admit it's taking some getting used to as it's a very different look! My stone looks gigantic in the bezel and that was a surprise. I thought it would look a little larger but it looks a LOT larger! I also worried about the "sparkle" in a bezel and I would say the sparkle is not diminished but rather it takes on a slightly different look. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out :).

I saw this stunner in Erika's IG and I'm blown away!! When you told me you were having her make you a modified Jin, I knew it would be beautiful! From your perfect stone to EW's exquisite setting you have achieved the ultimate in beauty and functionality.  Her brushed metal makes me weak in the knees! Enjoy wearing her Jen, I hope she's your match made in heaven! :appl:

I loooove it in the Jin!

WOW what a stone! I love your round modification, it really complements the symmetry of the stone perfectly I think.

Oh JDDN, its marvelous... very classy and sleek. Very wearable and love how the matte bezel just brings out the facets in the stone... so bright. Your eyes just focus in on the stone!!
Yay!! So happy you kept the stone and love it set like that. Congratulations on a fantastic setting choice. The round Jin is very classy and just perfect :appl:

Glad your stone found it's forever home. Looks beautiful!

JDDN this is so beautiful and perfect!!! Looks amazing on you! You have quite the collection!!

JDDN, what a fun journey! How cool that your stone went from an F to an E, and a Signature BGD cut!

I love it's new home, very elegant and chic and it suits your hand so well! It's funny, I have had my OEC in a bezel for a long time, and sometimes daydream about going to a pronged setting. Part of it is wondering how the light play would change (it's pretty darn great now, but I wonder, could it be better? ). But I don't think I'll ever change it for exactly the reason you went to a bezel - I knock it just enough to feel insecure having any other type of setting. I'd hate to have to worry about it all the time!

The brushed metal looks amazing!

I loved reading your journey and am so glad you found a setting you love for your original diamond! :appl: Sometimes it does take a few tries, as many of us can attest! I agree that this would be a very good size diamond for my daily real life, too!

JDDN - what a beautiful ring!!! I love, love, love the Jin  such a cool, elegant setting, an awesome choice! I saw your other post, your AVC is just magical and as a bezel lover myself, I completely understand wanting a super safe setting for that beauty. I think when it comes down to it, you have such a great eye for design, you know what suits your lifestyle and personality and you will make the perfect choice for your AVC. Quite frankly AVC's are just so beautiful you could set them in play dough and they would still look incredible! :) Congrats again on the Jin - amazing!!! Bezels rock!!!

It is absolutely lovely! So glad you finally decided on both the recut and the setting. Does make for a beautiful, practical ring for every day wear!

Wow, the Jin really makes diamonds POP. Congrats on the reset and it looks lovelier than ever!

Fab. I've always loved a full bezel and yours is rockin'! I also like brushed metal; so custom. :appl:

The brushed metal is awesome! I love your ring!!

Congrats, A well cut stone will sparkle in any style of setting!..

What a beautiful and elegant ring!! Your stone looks amazing in EW's brushed metal. Enjoy wearing this beauty.

Ooh, love this! It's completely transformed!

Beautiful bezel! I love Erika Winter's Jin! HIw is it different than having prongs? I am wondering because I've never had a bezel and wanted to hear what you think. Does the bezel make your diamond larger? Thanks for letting us know!

I love everything about this! Do you wear a band with it, or no?

LOVE this ring!!!   Looks really lovely on your hand!

I adore this setting!!!!!!

This is perfection! It is elegant, sublime, ... I could go on and on! This makes the stone and ring a functional piece of art. Congrats on such a lovely reset. An EW is definitely on my list!

Love this so much!!

It's gorgeous, I love bezels and yours is about as nice as it gets!!!!

IRL, it is STUNNING. COMMANDING.

Aw, thank you so, so much everyone for your sweet comments and for sharing in my enthusiasm!!! Erika's brushed metal is heaven. I had the chance to see her yellow gold brushed metal over the weekend and I am dying to have something in it, lol. It's really divine ::) .

Just wanted to answer Crazie4cuts question. The look is totally different between a bezel and prongs. I love both, so for me it was mostly a functional decision as a bezel really suits my lifestyle better and I can wear my rings worry free. The bezel definitely adds some size to the stone and my diamond is no less "sparkly" rather the light plays off it a little differently. It's hard to explain, but I wouldn't say a bezel is going to diminish the performance of a well cut stone. Also this EW Jin bezel has a very open gallery so lots of light is exposed to the diamond.

Motownmama: I haven't paired it with a band but will be playing around with things later 8) .
