It's me again, lol. A really long time ago I decided to send my GIA 1.76, F, VS2 RB to BGD for a recut so that I could upgrade with them to a larger stone. Well, that all happened and I did upgrade to a 2.25 carat, G, VS1. I wore it for a short while and knew it wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong, the diamond itself was gorgeous, but it was too big for every day for my lifestyle. I almost set it in a 3 stone with round sides, then it went to VC to be set in his Trilogy with pears, then I thought about sending it to Rebecca Overmann, then it was with Jonathan for awhile to consign, and then I decided I didn't want to part with it because it was sentimental, LOL. If you've read any of my other threads you'll get the idea that I may be a bit non-committal and indecisive .
I am SO glad I kept this stone as I just adore it. It's the perfect size for me for every day wear and it sparkles like mad after the recut. It ended up a 1.61, E, VS2 by AGS and is a BGD Signature stone now. One odd thing I noticed is that the star facets seem larger to me after the recut. I'm not sure if that is truth or not, but I see each facet flash on and off and sparkle and it makes me so happy, LOL.
I had it set in a simple four prong solitaire by Caysie and I adored it. Adored it. Alas, I kept knocking it against things and scraping it and it would scare the heck out of me. I decided to bezel it and sent it to Erika Winters for her Jin but with a round outline. The Jin is so beautiful, but I admit it's taking some getting used to as it's a very different look! My stone looks gigantic in the bezel and that was a surprise. I thought it would look a little larger but it looks a LOT larger! I also worried about the "sparkle" in a bezel and I would say the sparkle is not diminished but rather it takes on a slightly different look. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out .
