BIG HUGE PROGRESS!!!!!

YAYYYYY! First let me give my reasoning for EMAILING SO about my issue. I can write a whole speech in my head, but when it comes time to talk it... I''m completely inarticulate. That is with ANY situation where I feel pressured (mainly by myself). With that said, I emailed SO and basically told him that I wanted our next main project to be to work on getting the engagement part done. I felt I had been patient in letting him rebuild his boat (it was crashed a year ago and needed major repair), and repair his classic chevy truck (needed a new front drive shaft) and that I HAD been sad that those came first, but I knew they were important to him, but that it is very hard to me to watch all my friends get engaged when he and I have been together over three years.

Last night he promised that after the boat is finished (Should take under a month) he''ll get the money saved for the ring. HOORAYYYYYYYYY

I completely understand the whole email thing. Most of the time, I feel that it''s much easier for me to convey my feelings more accurately through writing.

Anyways, congratulations on the progress, and I think it''s great that you were so patient in letting him do those "luxury" things. Hopefully he appreciates that as well!

That''s great news! I do the writing things down thing too. Except, I read it to him and make him listen and then we talk about it since sometimes I get too emotional and I can''t keep talking through the tears if I get that worked up...

yay good for you that is exciting! you were very patient. lol i am trying to be patient now as my bf continues his search for a job -- which seems neverending in this economy

. however he has agreed that with diamond prices as low as they are right now and future inflation inevitable, now is the time to put some money down on a diamond at our jewlers and lock in a price!!! making progress is so much fun

Good for you for being upfront and honest about how you''re feeling. It doesn''t sound like you were pushy at all, just putting it out there.

My BF does MUCH better in email than conversations when it comes to initiating so I totally get that part. Once the initiation he can talk for hours though.
