Birdcage viel used as a blusher with a stardard viel?

I was wondering if anyone has seen this done? I don''t want a overly poofy viel look, so the viel I will choose will be one tier, and the bridal store was talking about velcroing a blusher on just for the ceremony. Could I use a bridecage viel with a long finger tip, or would it be too much? I like the more traditional viel, but love the fun and vintage look of the birdcage, and was figuring I might be able to do both.

I'm having trouble picturing this. Maybe actually try it at the bridal shop (assuming they have a birdcage available) to see what it looks like? My other suggestion would be to wear the traditional veil for the ceremony, and the birdcage for the reception. Maybe it's possible, but I can't picture the two playing nice together, if that makes sense. The styles are so different I think I'd be afraid of them clashing.
