Birthday Bling - I love this thing!

It''s that time of year again - the time when we have to recognize that we have to get older.

However, I seem to somehow be easily swayed by pretty things. I have had this custom citrine ring right hand ring made, and lo-and-behold - I can''t remember why I was so down.

The specs are as follows -

1.71 ct. VVS citrine
1.22 tcw F/VS2 emerald cut diamonds

This thing is thick - it''s 14k WG, but because of it''s sheer size, it feels like it''s made of platinum.

I was heavily distracted on my way into the office this morning, as this stone almost exactly matches the colour of my Audi TT''s interior. I tried to get a pic of it, but my macro abilities don''t seem to mix with driving.

I actually sourced the citrine from an Ebay vendor - can''t recall the name right now but it was incredibly inexpensive.

The setting was custom designed by my jeweler here in Dallas, but he based it on a stock setting - I''m not sure who sells the similar stock setting.

If you''re in Dallas, my jeweler is in the Plano area, JB Jewelers.

After wearing it for the day, I think I''m going to eventually take it back to my jeweler to have it flattened out a bit - and turned a bit more pipe-cut-esque.

I was trying a different style since most of my rings are flat pipe cut shanks, but, yeah, they''re more comfortable for me. This one feels too thick between my fingers.
