Anyone had/been to a wedding with a black/white theme?! These are the colors for our wedding and we''re using a scarlet shade of red for an accent color. I''ve personanlly never been to a black/white wedding, but have heard that they are very pretty and elegant.

Thoughts?! I know they''re getting more and more popular...FI had the idea and really wanted it. It grew on me and now I love the idea.

Mine was blk & white with purple accents (mainly just the flowers) I think it looked VERY elegant (but it was my wedding after all so maybe my vote doesn''t count) My FAVORITE part was our white chair covers with black ties. It looked SO good. I also think black BMs dresses are classic looking.

Those are the colors we''re using too! I think we''ll have red as a bit more than an accent, but not too much more. I want the bridesmaid dresses to be red with maybe a bit of black. I love the color combo and so does FI. I think you should go for it!

my sister had black and ivory.. very classy.

my cousin had a b&w wedding and I think it was the classiest wedding I have seen. She had soft pink in her floral arrangements, and it was just a right touch...enjoy and have fun with it :}

Wedding in December?? Should be amazing!! I love it!! And you could add it on the invites, they guests can easily play along if you want them to!

something about black and white together is so modern and chic, yet classic. If you watch project rinway, they had to do a black/white outfit this week... some of them turned out amazing! Always stylish, you can''t go wrong!

Never actually been to a black/white wedding, but I imagine it will be great!

When I got married 16 years ago I did mostly white with some pink but had the bridesmaids wear black cocktail dresses and it looked really elegant...

I''m doing black, ivory, and gold as the accent. I''m hoping it will look regal and classic. Our pictures will never go out of style. I love the idea of burgundy as an accent, that will give you more options for flowers and for the cake.

We''ve been to many weddings over the years where the girls wore black bridesmaids dresses, if you would consider that black/white? I''ve liked it so much every time that we''re doing it too... plus it''s more convenient for the bridesmaids to be able to rewear their dresses.

So for us: bridal party in black, me in white, and flowers and accents in monochromatic shades of purple (my favorite color!).

I think black and white weddings have a nice, simple elegance.

Three of the most recent weddings I have been to were black and white with pink accents. And I went to one that was completely black and white.

Well, the wedding I recently went to was not Black & White but orange and olive green, however all the groomsmen wore all black suits with green ties. (Including my fi) They looked fantastic! So good that my mouth dropped open when I saw my fi the first time in it. The orange orchid button-thingies looked pretty good on black too.

Although there is a caveat to dressing your wedding party in black. It was an outdoor wedding in the sun and the men had sweat rolling down their faces!

Thanks for everyone''s input!! We are both really excited about the colors. They will be classic and VERY elegant...so excited!!!

OK so next question. Since our accent color (aka only for flower/decorations)we are going with a crimson red I was wondering what ya''ll thought about our personal flowers. FI and I discussed and talked about our BM being in all black dresses w/ a all white bouquet. GM in black (not sure on shirt/tie yet) and they''re boutineer (sp) white as well. Then FI boutineer and my bouquet being in our accent color of scarlett. We saw this tody in pics at a bridal show and loved the look.

We did the opposite. DH had a white bout and GMs had purple (but same idea like you were talking about) Ahh...I can''t wait to get all the pictures so I can so you how good it looked! The waiting is KILLING me!

I would say have some color in the flowers, unless you are going to do your photos in all black and white. I am really tan (for me) in the pictures from last weekend, but i think we would have all looked washed out if we didn''t have that pop of color...but I''m sure that whatever you want will look fabulous!
