I know you want to trade up. If you resell your ring, the best you can hope for is a percentage of what you spent. But if you keep the diamond and trade it up, you'll be able to get 100% for it when trading back to Blue Nile.

I'm just bringing this up as I know you plan to go a different direction and get another ring. Trading up is the way to get back 100% of the value of your stone towards a new diamond.

You can always just sell the setting. Is your ring listed on Loupe Troop? Have you thought about just selling the setting?
