Hey, all. Even though I'm waiting for my SO's engagement ring to come in (and planning the proposal), I'm already thinking about bands, lol. I have a problem when it comes to buying jewelry for women that I love. :cheeky: Anyway, we've talked about using sapphire bands on each side of the e-ring (and possibly a diamond one after that). This was inspired, in no small part, thanks to Mayk and her amazing set:

Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about sapphires. I'm trying to find a half to full (preferably 3/4) eternity band of all royal-ish blue sapphires for $500 or less (each). I think they should be about 1.5-2mm in diameter and I would like them set in 14k WG like the e-ring. Wherever I get them from should also have a good return policy since I need to examine them and also see if my SO likes them. I found the following, and while I've heard good things about LOGR, I'm just not sure of the quality:

How well made are their rings? Will the sapphires fall out and/or break? If they do, how easy are they to replace? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

I ordered a ring setting from them once and was less than impressed with the quality of diamonds, though I never ordered sapphires and I know you can upgrade. I'm betting you'll have lots of people referring you to idjewelryonline.com. I hear nothing but great things from them and have been wanting to get one of their stackers for a while.

Here's a link to the stackers I mentioned: http://idjewelryonline.com/index.php?cPath=53_137

What looks good in a picture may not look as good once on a specific person's hand. Although Mayk loves her set, she found it too much after a while, feeling that all the bands put together seemed to take away from the centre diamond. Before going too deeply into your search, it would be a good idea to try on the set in actual store before making the purchase. You will find this style easily in department stores' jewellery section and mall jewellery stores.

I find most sapphires used in this type of bands lacking in colour quality. The melees are easy for your local jeweller to source and replace should any fall out or get damaged. LOGR settings are of good quality for the price.

Kelli,
I have no issues with LOGR's diamonds if upgraded. If you don't upgrade, the melees are pretty fugly. Their upgraded diamonds are very white, clear and sparkly.

Good to know, thank you!

Chrono: I'm wondering how recently you bought from them? Its worth a cautionary note if its been a while since upgraded diamonds have been purchased from them, or any ebay vendor for that matter. We recently saw from posts that one vetted ebay vendor had been found to be using Moissanite. I would just be reticent to use a blanket statement as they too, have ebbed and flowed in their quality over time. :))

There has been few reviews / pictures of newly purchased LOGR settings the last 2 years, with the shift towards Etsy.

Yes, precisely my concern. ;))

All valid points. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait until after the proposal so she can actually try some on, lol. I'm getting a little overexcited. :D

nice post.
