Hello everyone,
Does anyone have a photo of a "true blue" (not paraiba) tourmaline that they could share? I''ve purchased a ring in which the main stone was identified to me as a blue tourmaline. It doesn''t look like any of the blue tourmalines that I''ve found pictures of on the web. It actually looks a lot like a medium-blue tanzanite or a ceylon blue sapphire. (I don''t think it''s a natural tanzanite because it''s checkerboard cut, and I''ve never seen a checkerboard cut on a tanzanite.) I tried to get an RI on it but it''s a bezel set stone so no reading in the setting. I''ve attached an abysmal photo that I took with my phone. (Sorry, my camera isn''t working right now.)
Any chance that it''s really a blue tourmaline? Many thanks.
Kristina
