I've been a bad bad girl.

I couldn't resist the breathtaking colour of this tourmaline... Yvonne described it as pinky peach with orange and no brown.

Woohoo! What a delicious colour!!! Like a beautiful sunset. So... while I impatiently wait for this to come to me.. pleaseScreenshot_20170702-151925.png show me your pinky peachy orangey blush gemstones!

Padparadscha shades! Your tourmaline has a yummy color!

Padparadasha is exactly what I thought too! Thank you, I really love it (and don't have this colour at all).

Really lovely, Redspinel! Congratulations! I don't have many blush colored stones. I have a light pink/peach/lavender topaz ring, a pink spinel and spessartite garnet bracelet which I call "the sunset bracelet", and some rose quartz. Then just a few reds. One ruby ring and some spinel beads, and some antique red garnet jewelry. I had a pink star sapphire, which I gave to one of my daughters.
I have often thought that maybe I should focus more on this range of colors, but then somehow get pulled back into lavenders, blues and greens.

I just love that color! You must be so excited!

Thank you! Yes totally excited, so excited in fact I'm getting it put straight into Yvonne's silver Gatsby setting... and I don't normally wear silver haha! I just want to wear this ring asap, so I'll have it in the silver temp setting until I can upgrade it.

That's just so exciting!! I'm so delighted for you! Can't wait to see it! Have you considered a mixed metal look with maybe a gold head and a silver band?

I did ponder it, I think yellow metal looks better on me generally but also it'd probably look better in yellow gold (but I have no idea - what do you think)?

However the setting is a stock one so it's a really good price, and * I think* (although I havnt actually asked...) amending the head would probably take it into custom territory??!

If I went the custom route I'd want to go all out :shifty: I'm talking 18kt gold... diamonds etc lol. I'm an absolute metal snob!!!

I personally think the color of the stone warrants yellow or rose gold! But that's just because I like the warmth and mellowness of the color paired with a soft, warm, glowy look. White metal would be a cooling off effect, I imagine.

Not sure about price, but it might not be all that much more expensive. The main expense of the gold is usually in the band. What about a silver band, with a few small accent diamonds and then a yellow gold top. Or even, maybe just the prongs in gold. These changes definitely take it into semi custom work. BUT whatever you end up doing, the stone is beautiful and the ring will be too!!

I can definitely see it in a nice warm yellow and because it's such a yummy flower colour, I can imagine it in a setting that plays on that... ooh if I could go custom right now! Alas, I have to be patient. I'm still waiting on my (impulse) paraiba to get to me, and my rainbow moonstone must be nearly in it's setting by now (eeeek) so I've definitely used up the jewellery/stone fund for a while!

My next project was meant to be my mints/demontoids earrings OR/AND getting the rest of the components for the paraiba earrings... darn it I need some gemstone earrings!

But oops, I started this (yet another) ring project :eh:

Edited to add a very amateur mockup haha!

Oooh yay BD thank you!!

What stones are they? You wouldn't have that colour set in white gold for me to see, would you?!

Spinel on the 4th and tourmaline on the 3rd finger. Sorry I only have them in rose gold :)

I completely understand. I'm going to have to wait to set my tiny star sapphires for a while now after my
Impulse buys...sigh. I do think the tourmaline is lovely in the silver too! It's a lovely setting.

This is a different kind of blush. It is an untreated 6.18 carats parti-colored sapphire, not gem quality but more of a mineral specimen. But I found it quite attractive. It has the pink, orange, peach going in there but at different sides of the stone. Lol.

Beautiful blushing stone!! And I love that mockup.

Here's my blushing sapphire. It's a peach/pink stone from Jeff Davies.

What about rose gold? My padparadschas (sapphire) are set in rose gold, I think it's by far the most flattering shade for the stone.

I really don't like rose gold on me Doberman! BD, I love your spinal in the white gold. I'm not a white metal person but I like how the warm colour pops against it.

Then again I'm one of those that's likes icy white diamonds in yellow gold...

Go with your heart and love what you choose, because you are the one wearing it in the end :)

Burmesedaze, gorgeousness all around!
Acrinom, that's a lovely sapphire!
Seaglow, I love your sapphire! I think it's stunning and worthy of a great setting. I get tired of seeing only clear gems....the ones like yours, with dramatic and fascinating inner worlds seem so alive and magic, filled with earth history! Those colors are like sorbet. Great size too. Fabulous find!
