A few years ago, I bought a bolo diamond bracelet. Can’t remember if I ever posted about it, but anyway. It’s mixed cuts, 2.25 cts H VSi (as far as I recall). I bought it at auction in the UK, and I did find the designers name from the logo on the bolo slider.

Just before we moved, I managed to break one of the chains. It’s been sitting unworn for probably 2 years, until I recently came across excellent reviews for a local jeweller in our little ‘town’.

I took it in just over a week ago, to ask if he could fix it. He said of course, gave me a price, then I asked if it was possible to convert it to a bangle. He said it wouldn’t be a problem, but didn’t recommend making it in 18ct gold. We sorted out the details, and he rang this morning to say it’s ready.

I couldn’t be more pleased with how it‘s turned out, I’d forgotten how pretty the bracelet was. I liked it because it was different, 5 stations, 1 heart, 2 ovals and 2 marquise diamonds in halos.

The bangle is really solid and I intend to keep it on all the time.

Sorry in advance for the lousy photos, but IRL it’s a total sparklebomb.

Beautiful, @Austina! And so unique! Is it comfortable to wear? And - what's a "bolo"? I've not heard that term before.

And - how awesome to find a good jeweler! Wishing you much pleasure from your lovely new piece! <3

Thank you @mrs-b. It’s very comfortable, it’s not a traditional oval bangle, the underside is slightly flatter so it sits really well, and won’t twist and turn. It originally had a chain each side, which threaded through a ring that had a grommet, so was adjustable to fit any size wrist. My wrists are quite small, so the chains dangled quite a bit, hence I kept getting it caught in my steering wheel. That’s how I think I ended up damaging the link which caused the breakage.

This guy’s a real find, and we had a very long chat as he’d lived in the UK for a little while, around the Birmingham diamond district.

Lovely! Enjoy the ***SPARKLE*** for many years!!

Beautiful. Love the halos. Very unique. Enjoy!

I LOVE your bracelet @Austina i love the different shapes in a halo! I can tell it's a total sparkle bomb! This looks beautiful on you! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you @Rubies-R-Me, I have a haloed marquise as a r/h ring, and also a haloed heart pendant, so not too matchy matchy, but complimentary.

Love the conversion! I have a bolo bracelet, and have damaged it twice. DK fixed it for me. Am always looking for a way to put on a bracelet and fasten it myself, but bolos don’t last forever, that’s for sure. Great solution.

It is beautiful and the conversion looks fabulous! So glad you find it wearable - that is the name of the game!!

Thank you @Mrsz1ppy, as it’s hinged, it’s really quite easy to put on, and the double 8 safety clasps means it’s staying put.

Thanks @MissGotRocks, I loved it before but was always a little wary of catching the chains. Now it’s on, it’s staying on.

I have always loved this bracelet @Austina, and now I love it even more! It looks great on you. I'm glad you are back to enjoying all that sparkle.

Thank you @junebug17, I’ve always wanted a diamond bangle, but I got the bracelet for such a good price, I couldn’t say no. Now with the cost of conversion, it‘s still a steal.

Great conversion! I have trouble tightening those bolos so I love that you converted it to a bangle.

Thank you @Catmom, I like the fact that now it‘s on, it’s staying on!

This is super pretty! What a fabulous idea to convert it!

I love this idea and love how wearable a bangle is compared to a bracelet. What metal did you end up choosing if not 18ct gold? I'm hoping to do the same to a bracelet of mine as well.

SWOON!!!!

Yes it is @maryjane04, I haven’t taken it off since I picked it up. He recommended 14kt for the bangle, and said he’d even go down to 10kt for durability.

Thank you @missy, you know how much I love it!
