Booked Venue...Round 2!

Well, we checked out the country club again tonight, but this time I brought along my mom and girlfriend.
Here''s the thread where I freaked out about switching from our original place to the club.

We decided to book the club after a lot of thought and disagreements. Hey, if this is the worst of our wedding planning debates, we''ve got it good.

Instead of having the ceremony inside the smaller ballroom (which had some ugly characteristics), we''re having outside by the lake. I was originally weary of this because of the lack of seating directly in front of the dock. We''ve figured out where to seat people even though it''s a little ways up the hill from where we''ll be. We will have a PA system with a mic on the preacher or FI so people can hear us. We tested out the seating and people will be able to see everything from every seat, so we''re covered.

It will be darker than this at 7:30pm in July...

Ivory linens and chair covers are included in our cost. The ballroom will look lovely, that I''m sure of.

The ceremony will also when it darker out. We will drape lights around the stair railing, as well as some fabric around those spikey plants on the dock. We will have some type of iron garden harbor with the ivory chiffon, roses, and vines behind us also.

I''m finally past the other place...especially after hearing some not so great reviews.

Shhh..don''t tell FI that after the fits I threw about the switch.

I think the outdoor ceremony will be beautiful. I love the footbridge -- you will get some great pics!! I''m glad you worked it out -- I think you can still get that lovely garden look of the pics you posted of the 1st venue but this has a much more natural feel to it.

Thanks!! I think with the lights, roses, candles...we can really dress it up. I''m happy with it!

I know this venue wasn''t your first choice, but it is really nice and if it is cheaper as you had mentioned before, it is a better option. With the money you save, you could afford to do something else.

Yes, it is very nice...just a different kind of nice from the first place. The club will accomodate more people and continue to throw in some things for no extra charge due to FI being a former employee and knowing management well. The head chef has already told us he''s going to fix us up. I think it will turn out beautifully.
