My fiance and I are interested in booking a honeymoon with Sandals. Currently, on their website they are offering a promotion of 50% off. I''ve heard booking at Sandals through a travel agent could also provide a discount. For those that have had experience with Sandals, is it worth talking to a travel agent to see if we could get a better deal than the current promotion or is the 50% off on the website the best deal you can get on a Sandals resort? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

We are going thru the same thing with looking to book in Couples Negril.
We are booking the rest of our honeymoon through AAA travel agent, and they are quoting us the same $ as the Couples website. We''ve since found a lower price on 2 other travel sites, so we''re going to ask our travel agent if she can meet those.

Personally, I take a bit more comfort in going thru an agent, even if the $ is the same they can often get upgrades, etc.
I will let you know what we find out, should know later today!

We booked through the website during a 50% off promo. We only paid our deposit which worked out really well because the price ended up going down and we were able to get the cheaper price since we hadn''t paid in full yet. I''m not sure if you can do this if you book through a travel agent, but it''s definitely something to look into. If I remember correctly, we saved over $500 doing it this way.

Me too. When I called up on the last day to make my payment the price had dropped by over $700 and they gave me a lower balance to pay.

I booked our Sandals honeymoon abot 2 weeks ago at Liberty Travel. We are going to the Whitehouse resort in Jamaica. I felt more comfortable going with a travel agent than booking online because I wanted to do it in person. The agency cost $5 more than the website. The agent told me that if the price goes down that we will still be able to get it for the lower price.

I can''t believe I forgot about all the trouble I had booking online! In my defense, it was 9 months ago... Here''s a link to the ordeal https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-am-furious-with-sandals.58434/. If you can still get the refund through a travel agent if there''s a price drop I would definitely do it that way. Sandals'' customer service sucked when I had problems with my booking. They were great once we got to the resort though.

Thanks for the information so far ladies. The 50% promotion only lasts for a few more days so I think we''ll book it online since we don''t have much time to see a travel agent soon due to work commitments. Also, for those that got the original price cut down how did that come about and was it due to being in a non-peak season? We''d like to go in late April/early May so I''m not sure if that''s considered peak season or not.

We went in September which is considered off-peak. I just kept checking the price online once a week and when it dropped I called the 800 number.

My price drop was kind of a surprise... I didn''t know until I called to pay the balance and THEY told ME. I was impressed by that. It doesn''t hurt to ask. One thing I noticed is that it was about a week after a hurricane and brushed the island so my mom asked me if they were doing it because the linens were still wet!

There wasn''t any damage to the resort though. My honeymoon was also off-peak, in October. It rained about an hour a day on our honeymoon but it wasn''t a big deal.

I did actually have some problems with my resort, but they have given me a voucher that kind of makes up for it. Kind of.
