I have an appointment this saturday to try on wedding dresses (yay!) and will need to get a bra for then. My problem is I never like strapless bras, they either fall down or smoosh my boobs and make me look flat or the cups don''t sit right on my chest. This may be more of a fit issue... but do any of you have strapless bras that you recommend or what you are wearing for your wedding day. I don''t want to spend a ton of money, because I will probably get some different lingerie for my wedding day.

All the places I went had bustiers for girls to wear when trying on the dresses. I would just take whatever strapless you have with you and don''t worry about buying a new one yet. You won''t need it till your fittings.

Good luck and take pics!!!

I agree with Karasue. Don''t waste your money till you know what YOUR dress requires. You may end up with something backless... or you''ll need a long-line to prevent visible seams... who knows? They have several different types of bras to try at the shop so you''ll get to see if you can find one that you do like. You will probably end up needing a bustier style anyway.

have fun!

By far the best strapless I have ever owned is this one from Victoria''s Secret. I am super hard to fit in bras (32 C.. nearly impossible to find). I always have a problem with strapless bra''s falling down all night and driving me crazy. Not only does this one actually stay up, it''s very comfortable!

The place that I''m going to use asked that I bring my dress with me when I try undergarments on. I haven''t even brought my dress to a seamstress for alterations yet, but for some reason, the bra people want to see me in my dress to get an idea of what to look for.

Once you know what kind of bra you need go to a nice lingerie store, not just a department in a store. I am lucky to have been getting my bras for one of the best in the country (she is frequently featured on shows), and it makes a HUGE difference. I am a 30 C, that''s right, a 30 C which makes it nearly immpossible to find a strapless but a good place can find a way to do it.
I actually made one of my bridesmaids go to get fitted and she said it was the most amazing difference on her chest since she got breasts. She, like my mom, grandma and cousin, were all sized wrong by department stores and so had the same problems with being smoshed or having things fall down, etc which the right size really does fix.

if you are looking for a decent cheap strapless, the best one i found was at target, the gillian o''malley brand one. that is, if you are still planning on getting one!

I know that sometimes a bride can get the cups sewn into the gown and then there''s no need for an additional bra.

I''m planning on a Maggie Sottero dress so I won''t need to wear a bra because of the structure of the dress and the corset back.

Good luck finding your dream dress!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I currently have a strapless bra, that has seen its better days might I add. It seems like a lot of bridal salons according to you gals have bustiers to try on with the dresses. So, I would rather not spend the $$$ until I know what dress I pick and bra I will need!

THANKS!

a word of advice!

always go up a size with strapless!!

I''m a 32D and needed a 32DD so I would not fold over on myself!!

I purchased my bra at barenecessities.com, but I went to the store first and was helped. I never liked strapless before either, but this bra held me in perfect. It''s made by Dominque
