hi! I''ve been putting in major hints to get the WF shared prong bracelet and I think it might happen for my b-day in a few months.... or sometime this year anyway! question for you guys though, is it too much bling to wear a RHR plus that bracelet? I usually wear a .35ct eternity band (bead set, subtle bling) or I sometimes wear a family OEC with side sapphires. I''ve posted pics of both previously. Anyway, I am definitely a RHR gal, and I don''t want to overdo it. I also wear my simple solitaire and plain band on the left, with a simple watch. I usually wear small diamond studs and a small solitaire pendant too. Is that too much bling for a casual, classic, understated gal to wear on a regular basis?

If I got the bracelet, it would either be the 1.0 or 1.5 ctw, haven''t decided.

I think that looks elegant and not too blingy.

I am dying

to see pics of your old/new bling, the studs and pendant.

I''m completely unreliable. If I had all that nice bling, I''d definitely be wearing it daily. It''s there to be enjoyed. Actually, with my lesser bling, I wear versions of all those things daily. Probably the only difference is no one can ever see my earrings because of my hair.

There''s no such thing as too much bling. I always wear a bracelet with my rings.

Ditto. I always wear a bracelet with my RHRs. If I am wearing a gemstone ring it is a matching bracelet or if I am wearing a diamond RHR it is a diamond bracelet.

I actually just got a 2 ct shared-prong bangle just over a week ago (and I LOVE IT!) .....I wear it everyday with a diamond baguette 1 ct band on my right hand. In fact, today at work, which is where I am now (I know...posting while at work....bad me

), I'm wearing blue jeans with it. Let's put it this way....life is short....wear your jewellery, and enjoy it as much as possible. Really, it's not TOO blingy, but at the same time, it IS blingy.....in a tasteful way. A simple diamond line bracelet is elegant and classy in any situation, in any style of dress. Go for it!

No way, Gail!! There is no such thing as "too much bling"!! Are you crazy, woman?

Go for it!! I LOOOVE that WF shared prong bangle. Yummm-O!!!!!

Thanks you guys.... you are making me feel a lot better about this (hopefully future) purchase!
SDLady, my idea of a classic collection is very similar to yours. To me the "essentials" (in quotes b/c no jewelry is truly essential) are:
pearl necklace + earrings
diamond studs
w-set if you are married
functional watch

my "second most essential" list is:
a rhr
classic bracelet
diamond pendant

so, I'm good to go once I get the bracelet, ha ha!

my "non essential, just want it" list are:
more RHRs
studs or pendant in a different style
a nice watch

OK, there was really no point to my lists, just that I am wanting, wanting, wanting that bracelet!!!

Togal, that's super cool that you got one! Did you get it from WF? Have you posted pics?! Do you think that 1 ctw would be too small and should I try and get the 1.5? It seems like almost the look of a tennis bracelet, but much more affordable, since the diamonds only go on one side.

No way is that too much bling! Shame shame for even thinking that

Well, actually, I must confess that I didn''t get my bangle from WF....but it''s beautiful just the same. Here''s what happened....I was in New York in June on vacation and I spotted a lovely 1 ct shared-prong diamond bangle at a very nice shop in the diamond district. I purchased it and was so happy with it....it had super little fire-cracker diamonds in it. Cut to approximately 4 weeks ago.....I was on my way to work and felt my wrist -- my bracelet was gone! I lost it somewhere between home and the subway. Anyway....I phoned my husband immediately at work. He knew how much I loved that little beauty, and he very kindly told me that not only could I go and buy another one, it should be better than the first! Of course, I siezed the moment before he changed his mind! So, I went to a local diamond vendor and purchased the diamonds, then had it made up. I confess I did give them pictures of the WF bangle....but I do know that WF gets the "blanks" (the bangle part of the bracelet) from another company and sets the diamonds in them, so I feel okay about it. I had actually phoned WF about this, but being in Canada, it was just as easy and cost-effective to have it done here. The cost was identical, without having to deal with shipping, customs, etc. Plus, I have a smallish wrist, and liked the fact that I could customize the size.

In answer to your question about size -- the 1 ct looked very fine and delicate -- it was lovely. However, the 2 ct looks more like a proper tennis bracelet. I really think that you should go for the 1.5. As you said, you''re getting the look of a tennis bracelet at a fraction of the price. I prefer bangles to bracelets, as they don''t move around on the wrist so much....plus the diamonds in the shared-prong setting are more concentrated, if you know what I mean.

I haven''t taken or posted any pics..... I will try to take some decent pictures over the weekend and post them, to give you an idea of the size and how it looks with my RHR.

Yes go for the 1.5, and no there''s no such thing as too much bling, hehe.

A RHR and a bracelet would be too much (for me) but it''s mostly YOUR level of comfort and what occasion you''re wearing all these diamonds to! Keep in mind, I only wear a wedding set, diamond stud earrings, and a necklace (a simple tiffany necklace or my diamond pendant), so if I ever purchased a diamond bracelet, I''d probably wear that with just my earrings & wedding set. No necklace.

Regarding carat weight, absolutely go for the 1.5 ct! It will look stunning and stand out.

Togal,
That's really good info, and thank you. Sorry to hear you lost your first bracelet

I'm glad you were able to replace it. One reason I favor the bangle over the tennis bracelet is that with the bangle, I won't be banging diamonds into my computer screen. (The other reason is cost - no way would I be getting a proper tennis bracelet now!) I think the tennis bracelet is a classic but the bangle is maybe a NEW classic - maybe a younger look for jeans-to-cocktail dress versatility. Now I sound like I am selling them :)
I tried on a 1.6 ctw tennis bracelet today. It was nice but very subtle. I was picturing basically all that tcw on ONE side of the bracelet and thinking WOW. That will have some impact!
It's weird, I was just dying for studs and my pendant. I do want the bracelet sometime, but I'm not DYING to have it. I knew with the pendant and earrings I could trade up sometime, but this is probably the ONLY diamond bracelet I'll ever get... so I want to make sure and do it right. I wish there was somewhere to try it on locally but haven't seen one yet.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, and would love to see some pics!

By the way, how much smaller did you get your bracelet? I have a smallish wrist too. I hope the WF bracelet wouldn't be too big.

Thanks MC - that''s good to keep in mind. I hope I could wear all my bling and not feel TOO showy, but who knows. I could rotate things around and wear different combos day to day. My issue is whether the rings + bracelet are too much - I guess I''d just have to see. I could maybe stop wearing my watch. I like it but it wasn;t expensive, and I could always use my cell phone to tell the time.

Thanks SNLee. Are you enjoying your scattered diamond ring? I love that!

I posted the pics of the 2ct on the SMTR forum. I also found pics of the 1 ct I lost to give you an idea of the size difference.

As to the sizing, I actually traced out on paper another bracelet I have that fits my wrist perfectly, then gave it to the designer to give him an idea of the correct size to make it. I believe the WF bracelet is a standard size of around 7.5".

TDL, it''s incredibly tacky to wear all of that and you should send one of your baubles to me immediately to remedy this awful situation! I''m here to help you help yourself, m''kay?

PS: I dont have a diamond bangle so...

Thanks TDM! I''m loving my scattered diamond band!

I like the way surfgirl thinks! If you feel like it''s too much bling, you can always send it to one of us! I''m second in line.

TanDogMom, I don''t think that is too much bling at all. I wear one or two small bracelets, my wedding set, a RHR, earrings and a pendant everyday. None of them are big carat wise. My favorite bracelet is a 1 carat WG diamond bracelet; it has 10 diamonds that are bezel set so it doesn''t look like a traditional tennis bracelet. I can''t wait to see what you get.
