Bracelets and bangles - one to rule them all or stackers?

I have a few earth-mined diamond bracelets and a bangle that I mix and match to wear on my right hand as the mood and occasion takes me (I only wear a watch on my left hand and have a few to suit the occasion), and am planning to add more "stackers" to my collection.

However, I am increasingly fond of the idea of having a grand bracelet made, about 2 to 2.5cm in width, to be worn on its own.

How does everyone feel about bracelets and bangles - stackers or one to rule them all, or have both if budget allows? :lol-2:

I have a pair of huggy earrings that I seldom wear, and am thinking of re-purposing them into a bangle/bracelet of some sort to add to my stacker collection.

I do like the idea of having something grand like HM the Queen's wedding bracelet made.

The Edinburgh wedding braclete is a stunner
It kooks so elegant when the Queen wears it over those long white gloves

i hope they (HM or Charles) makes it a heirloom of the Crown like the saphire brooch Prince Albert gave Victoria on the eve of their wedding

Now what you need to find my dear DK, is a Prince with a mother with a surplus tiara or two (it would be good if he has a brother .. and the mother has two tiaras we can dismantle :lol-2: )

A million miles away from diamonds i'm thinking about having my Dad's onyx cuflinks incorporated into a braclete - i surprise it would be polite to have two made and give my sister on

Ive always wanted one of those silver bangles with the lovelly engraving and coloured gemstones, they used to be all the rage back in the day - i gave my sister an amethyst one for her 21st because i used to always give her a purple present

I may investigate if I could re-purpose the huggies I mentioned, as well as my mother's wedding earrings that I do not wear much as they are clips and hurt my big fat earlobes into two different bracelets/bangles.

I'll take a pic of these later.

Stackers all the way.

I like the idea of stackers but personally it would not suit me haha I'm in for a grand bangle all the way :kiss2:

I dislike stacking bracelets and do it very rarely. So I guess I’d go for the hidden third option: multiple substantial bracelets/bangles! If I had to pick only one of the options, I’d pick a single substantial bracelet.

I’ve tried diamond bracelets that width and they can be a bit overwhelming. Like too much bling you know? Maybe get a trial/cz one to wear for a while to see how you feel about it?

Here are my two pairs of earrings that I am planning to repurpose into bangle bracelets.

First up a pair of huggies for an open cuff bangle. I had them for nearly 20 years and seldom wear them as they protrude too much when I have shorter hairstyles.

Next are my mum's wedding earrings. She does not like to wear jewellery, just a watch to tell the time. She did have a 5 or 6-stone ER that she gave to me, and I had lost it, DOH! Her ears are not pierced, so these are clips, and they hurt my ears. The tassels would have to go, however, I am thinking of a by-pass bangle of some sort. They may not worth a lot however they are sentimental to me.

My day to day watch is 2cm in width so size wise it will be fine.

I am concern that if I have a grand bracelet, I would need a grander watch on the other hand, and have been eyeing another Ebel Beluga for some time (I love that particular bracelet design).

Will jewellery shopping ever stop? Hell no, long may that continue for as long as possible!

Ummm, no. From what I gather, she helped herself to everything she wanted and left the scraps for you, so no. You make yourself a bracelet for you. Depending on the onyx, maybe an open or hinged cuff, with the onyx at the open ends?

Depending on your life style, I would do one stunning bangle if you tend to dress up often; a couple of thinner stackers if life is more casual.

I can't answer for you without knowing what your lifestyle is like and what you'd get the most use/enjoyment out of.

For me, I like having a "big" and a "small" for each of my items. For example, I have one pair of larger studs and one pair of small ones. I get almost equal wear out of each of them. Half the places I go it would inappropriate to wear the larger studs (or it would be unsafe or uncomfortable.) The other half of the places I go I adore wearing my "big" studs (and I love wearing them at home, they make me feel pretty even when wearing sweatpants or pjs!) So I really need and use both pairs.

And I'm slowly putting together a fairly large tennis bracelet. But I know that I will only be able to wear it about half the time, so eventually, I'll also need a smaller, much less blingy one too.

I don't know if your life is similar to mine, but if it is, perhaps it would be good to have 1 very blingy and one lesser blingy bracelet to chose from.

I do not have many diamond arm blings in my collection, merely a12.45ct TB, 5.13ct half eternity oval bangle & a Perlee Clover. I don’t & can’t wear my TB too casually hence I have that bangle made for casual day out or even grocery shopping. In short, I am like @RunningwithScissors, needing both.
If I fancy more blings for fancier occasions, I guess I will choose to stack?

I'm a huge fan of stackers. They are a really pretty, feminine look and you can change the look with different combinations on different arms which for me is a bit of an obsession. I love planning my bracelet stacks for each day, depending on outfit/ other jewellery/ occasion. I do have a larger diamond bangle that I never wear stacked and only for blingier occasions, and a diamond charm bracelet that is also a stand-alone. But if I had to choose, I would go with the stacking option every time. Much more versatile.
