Okay, so ever since I found this website I have become addicted to diamonds. I have been watching all of the posts about Brian Gavin and am constantly wowed by how amazing his work is. You read these stories about Lesley and how she never sleeps because she is reachable at any hour. Surely, it can''t be true... In fact it is! The customer service I received is something I have never experienced before. I imagined that customers who were spending loads of money would receive special attention, not your average joe, but I did.
I initially contacted BGD because I wanted to recut an old diamond. After much discussion with Brian personally, we decided it wasn''t the best decision as the diamond was pretty well cut to begin with and had a fissure on the side of the stone that was potentially hazardous.
After seeing the beautiful bezel earrings he creates here on Pricescope, I thought I would contact again. I also sent in a 1/2 carat platinum channel set band that I wanted to create something with. I am still deciding on the earrings which I will probably do in the next few months. I decided that the diamonds from the band would make a nice scattered band. I have always loved the Tiffany Etoile bands and really enjoyed the scattered bands from Whiteflash. Lesley told me she had a scattered band made from diamonds I believe were from Brian''s grandmother and that they could take my 4 pointers and make the band with the stones. I was so excited! I spoke with Brian directly about what mm size band to use and told him whatever he suggested would work for me. He said 5 would be good and told me to get sized at a store with a 5mm band. I told Lesley the size and they were off to create my little beauty. Lesley ordered the band on Friday and said the ring would be in Monday or Tuesday to start working with. I woke up this morning a week and a half later to an email from Lesley telling me my little beauty was ready! Talk about fast.
But wait, there''s more. In her email Lesley told me that two of the diamonds needed to be replaced with Brian Gavin signature melee. One was badly chipped and the other was too small! In her email Lesley went on to say that the price of the diamonds were included in my original price. WHAT! I cannot believe the lengths and bounds these two go to in order to insure happiness in their customers. I am beyond happy.
So... Stay tuned for hand pictures today or tomorrow depending on when I receive my little beauty. I think I need to name her.
