I am still searching for a suitable modern cushion. The advice here was to base it off the look/visuals of the diamond and the aset vs lab report. Thus far she seems to have a slight preference for modern vs antique. I want Victor to do the setting as I posted before. I am not sure if he is setting other stones at this time. This may sound like a stupid question... but if not couldn't I just buy the setting from him made for a certain sized diamond and send it to someone else (ie BG) and have him set it? Victor has a ton of diamonds on his site but not a lot of real pictures or ASET's aside from his own OMB and OEC cuts. They have been great to me and I trust them as well as that if I requested pics/vids of a certain diamond I could get them.

In the mean time Jamie at BG has been very helpful. I have bough other BG Black jewelry with her help. Here is a BG Select cushion I am linking for thoughts. Mainly to help educate myself on what a good ASET and pic/vid looks like. I have looked up and read some on how to read ASET images but want to hear what is thought by people with more knowledge.

FWIW Jamie told me many cutters shut down completely due to Covid hence the big gap in the higher end cuts being available at the moment. She said they hope things start to become more available quickly now that things are up and running again.

Thanks!

It looks great to my eyes!

The BGD cushions are absolutely amazing, I had one myself and I loved that stone. OMC and vintage like newly cut cushions like the VC ones are a completely different flavor, so you will need to determine what’s the most suitable to the wearer. Here are some pictures of the one I had:

@SimoneDi by any chance do you have more close up photos of your BGD diamonds? I was looking high and low for H&A cushions. :)

I'm not sure if VC sells his setting separately (without a stone). You would need to ask.

I found mine a couple months ago on James Allen. I didn’t realize what it was at the time. Total diamond newbie and just loved the H&A pattern on the cushion. It’s a 1.73 H color. Once I received it, I posted some video and a few members told me that it’s as good a find as possible without going branded. Plus significantly cheaper. I love it! Depending on the light it’s either sparkling like crazy or practically glowing from within.
My sister has a cushion she bought on James Allen about a year before me, X pattern. Hers was my goal until I found mine. It beats the pants off of hers from a sparkle and fire perspective. :)
It’s worth a scroll through the James Allen site!
