Hi,

Over the last couple of months I've been pleased to work with both Brian Gavin and Whiteflash. Here are a couple of videos of the rings alongside eachother on my porky (male) middle finger. One was for my mother, the other for my wife. The Whiteflash (left in the gold) is a 1.23 ct G VS2 and the Brian Gavin, a 1.54 H VS1.

The first video is under kitchen lighting, the second under very dull daylight through a window. Focus is variable but I think it shows how similar these 'super ideal' cuts actually are. They both perform excellently and similary as you might expect.

I'm waiting for some sun over here in the UK to get some outside shots but that might be a while!

Service wise, both of these vendors were top-drawer and I'd happily interchange based on what I needed versus what was in their inventory. They seem to be very comeptitive with their pricing too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIcozVxmkig (internal lighting - focus improves as the video progresses, will run at 1080p)

I thought it would be interesting to take a look at them both sat alongside eachother. May be useful for some.

Cheers

the rings are stunning and both are balls of fire! I would never be able to choose!

thank you for sharing..

:appl:

Nice videos. It's also interesting to see a smaller diamond with 6 prongs vs a slightly larger 4 prong setting.

Gorgeous rings, spon88! I think the only things that separate them is size and setting as their performance seems to be equally good. I love that WF setting, tho - would you mind sharing setting from their inventory it is? Or is it not one of their settings at all?

And - I have to ask! - who got which ring? :naughty:

Both seriously beautiful - lucky ladies!

Spon88, thank you for sharing the comparison videos. Wow! They are both beautiful stones! :appl: I particularly liked seeing the differences with 4 prong vs 6 in those sizes. Very lucky ladies! Brilliant!

Thanks folks.

The WF ring was their own "Elegant" setting. I can't see it on their site at the moment but I'm struggling on a phone screen so may be missing it. The BGD is a Novela Patientia. I like both but maybe the 6 prong shades it?

The wife has the bigger stone - I know how these things work! :)

Smart man. :)

Well done you on 2 beautiful choices and, no doubt, 2 very happy women!

Great comparison video! So helpful. Thank you.

Both are outstanding stones! I am fortunate to have a couple of ACAs myself!

And yes, smart man on giving your wife the larger diamond! I was trying to explain that to a man here the other day who was looking at a diamond for his mother that was probably larger than the e-ring diamond chosen for his future fiancee! BIG mistake!

Yes, important to keep them both happy but one slightly more than the other! We were all together at Christmas and it was quite "interesting" when they started comparing! I made a tactical exit to the pub - way too tricky to get involved in that discussion :silenced:

Two great stones - hope both ladies were happy after their 'comparisons'! I'm sure they are both thrilled!
