I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 20th anniversary upgrade, and am unsure which to pick! Which is best:

Brian Gavin Signature:

Whiteflash ACA 1.5:

Whiteflash ACA 1.6:

Any help is appreciated! :)

I would choose either of the WF ones over the BG one because of the lifetime upgrade policy, plus you go up a color grade (IMHO VS1 and VS2 doesn't make a difference in that size stone)

I have an eternity band from BG and it is just beautiful, so I think I've been a bit nervous about going somewhere else. I definitely favor the Whiteflash upgrade policy and I like that Whiteflash has the Vache U113, which I love. I have been torn between choosing BG with better clarity or WF with better color; thank you for the help!

I'd get the biggest. At VS2/VS1 I don't think the clarity is really going to make a difference, and you'd be more likely to see the difference between G and H. And since there's a 1.6 ct G... that's what I'd get. It's got a faceup size that will be noticeably bigger than the other WF stone and is still bigger than the BGD though idk if noticeably so - but in combo with the better color puts it over the top for me.

Either would be wonderful choices.
To echo what others have said: WF has an impeccable (and unbeaten) upgrade policy, so they have the advantage, in my opinion.

Just to clarify (for future readers mainly), both BGD and WF have lifetime upgrade policies. Just WF is more flexible, as all you do is spend $1+ than the original price and trade however you want. BGD requires $1+ more as well, but also requires you upgrade 2 of the following 3 C's: color, carat or clarity.

Recently I heard chatter there is some discretion in BGD's policy, but it is not written. For that reason I do prefer WF's upgrade policy.

Also my preference would be for a color bump that is likely minimal to the naked eye, but may have half a shot of being detectable. Whereas the minor clarity bump is likely only appreciable under the microscope.

Narrowing between the WF stones, I would ask them to pull and place side by side for additional photo & video comparison. Since all color grades have range, I would want to make sure they are near identical. If one is a little whiter I might lean that way.

Performance-wise, both WF stones are very, very similar in the videos. I would be curious to know what WF thought about each stone in a real life examination under various lighting conditions.

I might add both WF stones are $9,648/carat, whereas the BGD is just a smidge higher at $9,689/carat. So very equally comparable when you equalize the carat weight differences.

That said, the 1.606 offers an extra 0.20mm in spread for the same $/carat as the 1.537 and some will love that.

I went with the WF 1.6!! Thank you all for the help; I am SOSO excited!! :)

Congrats! Love the enthusiasm & decisiveness! Please be sure to post back once you get the new stone to share bling photos and thoughts on performance.

I will!

Excellent choice! In the event you ever upgrade again, they usually have the best selection of stones aside from the upgrade policy. Can't wait to see it set!
