Bridal Shower w/pics

These are not of my bridal shower, but from a bridal shower I threw for a friend. Everything turned out so well and it was a beautiful day so we were able to do it on the roof of my building.

For the shower I went to goodwill and picked up a bunch of pretty china plates/platters and glued glasses/vases/candlesticks to the bottom of them for instant pretty cake plates!

I then let people pick which one they wanted to take home (as you won games you got to pick so they didn''t all have to pick at the same time) which turned out to be big hit.

The tea set is one my mom had custom made decades ago (and I have been in love with since I was a girl). She doesn''t use it anymore so when I asked to borrow it she gave it to me as a gift!

The first game I had them play was a version of the TP dress idea. I had a bunch of ivory copy paper left over from my invites and so I gave each team a huge stack of it with a stapler. I think we worked on the dresses for about 30 minutes then had the brides decide which team had the best dress.

Then we played bingo as she opened her presents.

I just had so much fun planning and setting up this party, and am still stunned it went as well as it did. So, thanks for looking!

P.P.S Anyone know if there is a duct-tape wedding competition, like the duct-tape prom dress/tux one??? The paper dresses made me think of those crazy duct tape prom get-ups that a few high school kids used to make.

This shower had a very creative crowd, (all designer/artists or those related to them) but apparently paper is a great material for a wedding dress, who knew

It really is the first non come-on-over-and-bring-some-wine party I''ve thrown, I guess I did get a bit stressed/excited about it. Hopefully I won''t get so worked up about the next one.

And it looks like there is a duct tape wedding dress after all! Check out this wedding dress!

re: duct tape prom dress - I was one of those kids in HS! Mine was orange with red trim and my date was a black suit with red vest and orange tie.

P.S. I just want to say I''m closely following your other thread and think you are handling yourself brilliantly with that situation.
