I've been lurking for awhile, so it's only right to post another Bridget Durnell ring--a designer PS'ers seem newly interested in. I have a small hand and wanted a stand-alone wedding ring. Do you guys think this needs a band?

The center stone is a 1.01 carat round brilliant cut diamond. E color, SI2 clarity. The bezel set sapphires in the profile gallery are vivid blue color. It looks like the center stone is bezel set, but it's actually secured by 4 claw prongs. Metal is platinum. It's a size 4...

I dont think it needs a band. You must have the tinyest fingers but that 1 carat looks hugh on you. The setting
is definitly substantial enough to stand along. I love the profile view!

Wow, that''s a very lovely ring! I think it stands quite well on its own! I especially like the diamonds on the sides. Very pretty and very unique!

I agree with the others, its an amazing looking ring on its own.. Gorgeous.

does not need a band

Love the diamonds and the surprise sapphires! I think it''s perfectly substantial on its own!

Very cool ring that can stand on its own!

Gorgeous and unique ring! Love it!!

that ring is definitely substantial enough on your hand to stand alone! I can''t believe how big that 1 carat stone looks on you! It''s beautiful.

WOW! The ring looks perfect on you! I am wishing my finger was a size four now!

really nice ring!!!!

Beautiful! It definitely works as a standalone ring!

Gorgeous ring, it can definitely stand on its own. I would hate to cover up that profile with a band. It sure does look big on your hand. Just gorgeous, I love it

very cool ring and I agree that it''s perfect as a stand alone!

i think your ring can carry it''s own alone, too. also...it will mean that you won''t be hiding that beautiful profile!!!!

GORGEOUS setting and stone! Just beautiful!

If you *really* wanted to put a band with it I think it would pair up beautifully, but I agree that it doesn''t *need* it. Completely up to you, of course

I am so loving Bridget Durnell''s settings!! That is one gorgeous ring, and I love how substantial it is. I definitely don''t think it needs a band--in fact I think that would detract from the coolness of the design, especially those diamonds along the side.

Thanks. I keep hoping I chose the right setting. My previous setting had two pear-shaped sapphires flanking the center stone. It was more delicate, and I wore it with a band. Isn''t it hard to choose when there are so many pretty possibilities?

Wow. Just wow. I definitely think that ring can stand on her own!!!

I think that it is just beautiful all on it''s own!

It does stand on it''s own. It''s a lovely ring.

That is one gorgeous ring. I t definitely doesn''t need anything else.

beautiful ring! love the placement of the sapphire; sometimes those little ''surprise stones'' aren''t set completely flush and can stick out. you''re is beautifully placed. love the halo also and the side-set diamonds are gorgeous.

great ring. :)

Very pretty and unique design! I agree with the rest, it looks great as a stand alone ring, a band would cover the beautiful pavé on the sides..

What a very cool ring! I think it can totally stand alone...or with a very thin, simple pave band.

That''s a very amazing and unique ring. It can definitely stand alone. Who would want to cover up those diamonds and the surprise sapphire on the profile?

Gosh your ring is absolutely stunning and pretty from every angle! As others have stated, adding a band would only detract from its beauty. It is hard to choose a ring with so many options out there, but you have something very special there that will stand the test of time.

It''s unique and different and a definite stand alone piece.
