A friend of mine gave the advice to bring my bouquet on my honeymoon. So, I did...through 3 different airplanes and a boat. By carrying the flowers everyone knew we were on hour honeymoon. The American Airlines personal escorted us to first class check-in instead of the long coach line. The flight attendants gave us free champaign. The hotel in Miami on our wedding night gave us free breakfast. But most of all everyone was really friendly and we got lots of congratulations. It was a great way to extend the wedding feeling
Amazingly, the flowers lasted a the whole honeymoon (10 days!). I put them in water on our wedding night (after plane #1). Then when we got to our honeymoon destination. They were out of water easily 9-10 hours each time and looked a bit droopy but the water always perked them up. I cut off the stems with nail trimmers before the water (the only remotely sharp thing we had since no knives or scissors are allowed on planes!). We actually had to get rid of them before heading back to the US because of customs regulations. So, I sent them out to sea....thought it seemed fitting.
