A friend of mine gave the advice to bring my bouquet on my honeymoon. So, I did...through 3 different airplanes and a boat. By carrying the flowers everyone knew we were on hour honeymoon. The American Airlines personal escorted us to first class check-in instead of the long coach line. The flight attendants gave us free champaign. The hotel in Miami on our wedding night gave us free breakfast. But most of all everyone was really friendly and we got lots of congratulations. It was a great way to extend the wedding feeling :)

Amazingly, the flowers lasted a the whole honeymoon (10 days!). I put them in water on our wedding night (after plane #1). Then when we got to our honeymoon destination. They were out of water easily 9-10 hours each time and looked a bit droopy but the water always perked them up. I cut off the stems with nail trimmers before the water (the only remotely sharp thing we had since no knives or scissors are allowed on planes!). We actually had to get rid of them before heading back to the US because of customs regulations. So, I sent them out to sea....thought it seemed fitting.

That is really a fabulous idea!
Not only do you two benefit, but I think it probably gives everyone around you joy!
Everyone loves a happy couple!

We got nothing but crap for mentioning our honeymoon other than from our volcano hike tourguide, one flight attendant and the hotel concierges at both hotels. People we told (some who even ASKED US!) acted like how dare we say such a thing because they I guess felt like we were only using that for upgrades and boy were they not willing to be upgrading! We did get hotel upgrades and a free bottle of champagne at dinner one night but it was like we killed their dog when we mentioned it.

Heh. We showed up at the hotel on our wedding night in the gown and tux. We got congrats, but no upgrades. We also had to pay the fee at the parking garage (after reception) despite our attire, but we got a congrats.

Ame & JCJD...I''m sorry people didn''t appreciate you mentioning you were on your honeymoon. I thought the flowers were helpful because they let them bring it up first. I never mentioned anything until they asked, "Are you on your honeymoon?"

oh, I love that story!!!!! great idea! :)
