I obtained this 4.5 carat bubblegum pink tourmaline from Vancegems last year. It was precision cut by Bill Vance, and is a bubblegum pink. My camera washes out the color, but it has lavender in it which explains the blue color you see off the facet edges on the back of the gem. It is slightly sleepy. Nigerian origin. The photo was taken in indirect sunlight but does not shift color at all. It's one of the very few pink tourmalines I have ever seen with such a large amount of lavender flash. That's why I bought it.

I used one of my learner stone settings for this gem. It fit, so I figured, "great!"

My camera really washes out the color, but here''s another photo.

Indirect sun.

With my 2.8 spinel. I love the violet of the spinel next to the tourmaline. The two colors really compliment each other. Notice the lavender in the tourmaline.

I just wanted to show my new 1.82 mint grossular (which is a couple of shades more saturated than this photo. My camera is pitiful with any green stone. . . so frustrating

. The box also contains a 3.01 carat cushion Tanzanian chrysoberyl and a 6.16 carat Loliondo spessartite. I think all three would look awesome together in a pendant or something. I love these colors together, even though you can't see how nice the mint grossular truly is.

Indirect sunlight.

Hi TL! Nice color! the color of the Tourmaline goes really well with the gold setting, it seems like a perfect fit! I just thought that it will be even better if those are pointed prongs (I thought that the double-prongs looks a little ''heavy'')

More far away photo of the three stones together - same shot.

Love that photo!!!! Beautiful colors!

Lots of nice stones and the yellow gold setting really goes well with the pink tourmaline. Can you jeweller make the double prongs a little pointer rather than blunted ends?

Thanks everyone.

The double prongs aren''t that bad actually IRL. Asking my jeweler to make them pointier would be like asking them to perform rocket science. They don''t really do pointy prongs. I''m just glad they can set my softer gems for a reasonable price.

That chrysoberyl is such a ham! it manages to get into nearly every picture.
BUt seriously those are some real lovely stones. I especially like the lavender showing through the pink

I hope to have a collection half as good as yours. They are beautiful!!!

Lovely gems! I do think they go very nicely together. Do you think you''ll set them together?

Yeah, you caught me. I have a ham in most of my threads. Last time it was my violet spinel, I think it still is a ham. Thanks Vapid.

Thanks Mochi!!
I wish you could see the true color of the grossular. Do you think I should get another spessartite? LOL!

The spessartite was precsion cut by Gene of precisiongem.com. Forgot to mention that. It was obtained on his trip to Africa. I''m so glad I snagged that stone, and as many of you know, I almost lost it (it fell out of it''s setting). I almost died!

So sweet of you MarquiseGirl. I hope many lurkers come out and join us on Pricescope as I think many of our member collections are inspirations to hopeful gem collectors, and people who just love beautiful objects. Thank you.

Thank you IndyLady!
Well, I don't wear pendants, but I was thinking the chrysoberyl on top (vertical set), the mint garnet in the middle, and the spess on the bottom with chain between each. But that's just a pipe dream for now. I am not a pendant person, but am toying with the idea. I think the colors really compliment each other and I just love staring at them in the box together.

Beautiful color. Beautiful stone.

TL, you posted a pic. of your spessartine again! I know why you did it! I hope he still has some of that material. My heart skips a beat each time I see this stone.

I''d say you could put them in a ring, but since that spess is 6 carats, it might be best to scrap that idea. Do you ever wear bracelets? I could see that in a lovely bracelet, which would allow you to admire the stones as you''re wearing them as well. To be honest though, I do like the idea of a pendant better, but it''d be a shame if you did have a pendant made but never wore it.

Oh...I think I remember that one. Wasn''t it in a LOGR setting? I didn''t know that it fell out of the setting...where was I??

I do really love the combination of the 3 colors. They complement each other. Pendant would be just stunning....

Lori

Oh I second that!

TL - beautiful stone as always... I hope you don''t mind taking credit for making me love gemstones...you started it all for me! Thank you for being such a wonderful source of information.

I really like the setting you used for the tourmaline...I''m shocked it''s not a halo! hah! Where is it from if you don''t mind me asking?

Nice colour and ring, maybe you can transfer some more of your nicer stones into the learning rings.

Crasru, Thank you! I don''t think Gene has any more of that material, and if he does, it''s more on the yellow side, and included, but it doesn''t hurt to ask. I know he had high hopes for my stone as it was one of the best colors in his parcel, but it has three main inclusions. The funny thing is that if I turn the stone face down, it looks exceptionately clean. The inclusions sparkle off the facets making it look more included face up, but you know what, I like them actually. They look like glitter in the stone. It''s really fascinating, and I got a good price on it as a result.

Indy, Yeah, as a pendant I may never wear it, and I may lose it!! I''m leary about wearing expensive pendants for that reason. Thanks. I never wear bracelets either, and worry about banging the stones around in a bracelet.

Mochi, You have been too busy decorating your virtual house!! LOL! Thanks!

Lori,
I think it would be overkill to put all of my collection in one thread, and it would be a very long thread, but thanks. I have photos all over Pricescope, as I am very modest . . . NOT!! LOL! Thanks. You can also see most of my collection in my gallery. Thank you!

Deia,
That is a wonderful thing to say, and one of the nicest compliments any one can give me on Pricescope. Thank you!! As for the setting, it''s very old, at least 15 years old, and I bought it at a gem show. I don''t remember the vendor. I should get a side shot of it, the gallery is very detailed.

LovingGems, I''m about to sell some of my learning stone settings for scrap metal, some are just hideous, so then I can buy a halo!! LOL! Thnak you!

OMG! TL those are fabulous! Love the yellow, green, orange combo! It''s like a citrus group, very beautiful.

Nice pink tourmaline! Gemmy color!

The three stones are pretty! Are you sure you want to put them in the same pendant? Each has such unique and bright color, will they be competing with each other? If I were you, I will make them into three pieces.

iLander and LTP. Thank you!!

Yingh, I have to say that each color really stands well on it's own. They don't take awa from each other, at least that's how I look at it. Thanks you!! I will probably do separate pieces regardless and wear them all on the same hand. LOL!
