Thought it was about time I shared these. I love these two pieces and wear them almost constantly.

They are both A-grade untreated, natural Burmese jadeite.

The dragon pendant is described as ice-jade and is an incredible, translucent pale white-green colour. The photo really doesn''t do it justice! It was apparently carved out of the centre disc from a fabulously high quality bangle, which you can kind of tell from the shape.

The bangle also has a lovely translucency with a gorgeous, bright apple-green section, and three or so wisps of the same colour running throughout.

Not sure how many people here love Burmese jadeite... but I have always wanted some & finally treated myself when I was pregnant!

OMG!!! I fix my postage-stamp size photo issue and post something the size of a house!!!

I''m so sorry about that!

Will try & shrink it!

Oh wow! It''s beautiful!

This makes the green look paler than it is IRL, because the sun was shining on it...

I LOVE both pieces Cleo, they are so unique!!

I like this because it shows the translucency - you can see the carpet through it. :)

Lovely Cleo!

What beautiful pieces you have there! Thank you for posting, as I do not think I have seen jadeite before. Where did you find these pieces?

HI:

Oh lordy--really beautiful!

cheers--Sharon

Oooh! Thank you all for your lovely compliments. :)

I really enjoy wearing them, although I''m pretty sure noone ever knows what the pendant is made from. It''s a great piece though because although it''s a good size, its transparency means it''s still very subtle & great for work.

I bought the jade from www.jadeisus.com . It''s a rather bizarre website &takes some getting used to - but this man has some awesome (and I mean AWESOME) pieces!

Check out these items: http://www.jadeisus.com/ebay/DP360.htm

YUM!!!!

He''s English, living in Thailand & specialises in selling A-grade Burmese jadeite. He also does a lot of work to help financially support orphans in Thailand, particularly those living with HIV/Aids - and there are many stories on his site about this, and from the children themselves.

The prices on the site aren''t what you pay (although you can if you want to!). You can make an offer & he''ll negotiate with you, which is kind of fun. :)

Don''t blame me if you end up spending loads of money... but I can personally vouch for this site, the service & the quality of the jade.... even if the website is a bit kooky!

Hi Cleo,

I have also bought several pieces of jade from jadeisus.com. The pieces are beautiful. However, the pieces that I bought which were supposed to be A jade (no certificate from him though) turns out to be B jade. I brought the pieces to a jeweler and according to the jeweler, they are quite obviously B jade.

It doesn''t matter though because the pieces are unique and pretty by themselves. So I enjoy them regardless of the quality/type of jade. I just thought you should know before you plonk in more money thinking that they are A jade when there is a possibility that they are not. You may also wish to send the pieces to an appraiser/gemologist to have it checked out.

The pendant is a real beauty!I love jade and white is my favorite!I especially love the color combination of bright green on white that is called moss on snow...when i am able to post pictures i would like to share with the jade lovers of the forum my edwardian white carved jade pendant i found at a small shop in Hawii.

Simplysplendid - ouch, that sucks.

Did you contact him to let him know?

The pieces I bought were both certificated - but that''s certainly sound advice. You do have to be pretty careful who you get to appraise jadeite, certainly in the UK (where I was) as there are very few people there with any experience of it, or qualification to assess it, in my experience at least.

Jewelerman - I would lurrrrrrrve to see your jade!!!!! I love the moss on snow look - hence my choice of bangle! :)

Beautiful jadeite pieces, especially that clear white pendant. I too purchased a bangle from Paul, but it was pretty cheap because it was slightly defective, so I''m okay if it turns out to be a B jade.

He''s usually pretty clear in his ads what grade stuff is - and whether you get acertificate or not.

Actually, this is the second bangle I had from him, as the first turned out to have the tiniest crack in that he hadn''t noticed (and that I only noticed when I was taking photos). He was incredibly apologetic & exchanged it with no problems at all.

I wear my bangle 24/7 and occasionally scare myself to death my accidentally banging it on something. Luckily, so far it''s been ok!

At least I know I can easily replace my bangle - even if it won''t be *exactly* the same.

The pendant is really special though, because I know I won''t find anything else like it... and I just loooooove the dragon carving on it.

I''d love to see pics of everyone else''s jade!
