Hi, I would love feedback on this CAD from DK. Any suggestions for improvement? For example is the shank a good thickness? Might there be any way to have the stone sit lower? Oregon Sunstone is 6.5-7.2 on the Mohs scale. I requested a Euro shank to prevent spinning. My color preference is 18k rose gold. My inspiration is below followed by the initial CAD. TIA!

Some rings don’t have bridges at all (I think I’ve seen one or a few on DKJ’s IG)
But I don’t think that will allow your stone to sit that much lower off your finger than it currently is.

I don’t know if a euroshank will jive with my next suggestion - but I’d flirt with the bottom of the shank being at least 3mm and tapering thinner to the current width once at the cathedral area. But keeping it more squared off (crossection wise) to keep with the angular look of the bezel.

*Also open to thoughts whether a sunstone is too soft for everyday wear.

It's interesting: GIA says hardness 6.5-7.2. Most other sources say 6-6.5. Either way, conventional wisdom would advise against everyday wear in a ring. Especially with the high crown projecting 2mm above the bezel. This would be a striking ring for occasional wear.

I don't think so with that pavilion depth in the CAD. Maybe a mm or two max if it were open under the culet. You could protect the flanks a little better but that'd be a different kind of ring.

I like sunstone but no one in my family could safely wear it in a ring. Plus, it's softer than house dust which has a bit of Mohs 7 sand so you can't even wipe it off with confidence.

Thanks for the suggestion! I requested that instead of the euroshank. That should help in case I need to resize also.
