So today my mom and I went to a different cake place, as well as another dress place to see if we could find anything I loved for less than the dress I STILL haven''t ordered yet cause the price is making me cringe
Unfortunately we didn''t have any luck with the dresses. The place we went to has to fill out a form with what kind of dress you''re looking for, and instead of letting you look at what they have and pick it out, they just bring you dresses... it was odd and I didn''t like it one bit. It would be fine if I knew exactly what I was looking for, but other than ''my'' dress that I found, I have no idea! I told the girl who was helping us about the dress and what it looked like, and nothing she brought out looked anything like it, nor did it look like what I put down I thought I was looking for. The first dress I tried one was very pretty, but just not for me, but I hope it gets worn by someone cause it''s gorgeous!
The new cake place was great! They have LOTS and lots of options, and they gave me a whole nother thing of cake to taste back at home with FI who was busy and couldn''t come with today for it.
So the kinds they had for us to try were:
lemon poppyseed cake with lemon and buttercream.
banana cake with chocolate and buttercream.
raspberry cake with creamcheese frosting.
chocolate cake with raspberry and buttercream.
marble cake with creamcheese filling and buttercream.
They''re listed in the order of what I''d like to have in the cake, although it''s really hard to say which I liked more between the lemon poppyseed and the banana....but they were all soooooo delicious!! The chocolate with raspberry was really good too though, and people might like it better than the raspberry cake..and it was my moms favorite.. so that might work its way into the mix as well. hehe. We''ll just have to have every layer of the cake be different... and the lemon poppyseed one can be just for me
hehe.
But so aside from these choices they have so many more options that my eyes were just buggin out at the list! Oh the possibilities!! So although I don''t think we''re going to find someone who can do the kind of cake we were thinking about (something kinda like a dirt cake or a poke cake), at least we found a place with more than the standard options, at a better price than the first place we checked out, AND they''re more than willing to fulfill our desire when it comes to decorating it
And also, my mom got all sentimental because it happened to be just down the street from our old house (we moved when I was like two) and it''s in the spot where a deli used to be that apparently we used to walk to to get shaved ice all the time. My mom called it fate. lol.
So moving on, FI met up with us at Crate and Barrel so we could look at the things in person and figure out if there was enough there for us to bother with a registry, and unfortunately he didn''t like those beautiful plates that Sumbride pointed out, nor did he seem to like anything I picked out at all!! So that idea for another registry is scratched and it''s back to the drawing bored.
After that let down (I really REALLY wanted those plates!!!) he left and my mom and I went back to our day of weddingy stuff and went to just see what the mall jewelery stores had as far as wedding rings/bands go because while I found what I''ve had pictured in my mind all along, I''d like to try something on thats at least comparable because what I don''t want to order it and then find out I hate the way it looks on my hand! But we found nothing I wanted to try on, and left with me being frustrated with how annoying the people who work in those stores can be. *sigh*
But the good news on the ring front is that apparently since I left FI alone pretty much all day, he actually looked online at some wedding bands for himself and found one that he likes the look of!! But I still haven''t seen what it looks like cause he''s been playing video games on his computer since I got home. But it made me ridiculously happy that he actually took the time to do that because he hasn''t really cared about it previously.
So all in all, my mom and I had a really nice to day together topped off with a margarita and some good food.
P.S. Hopefully this makes at least some sense cause it''s been a long day for me and I''m beat!
