Hi DandiAndi - I have recently purchased a 5.4ctw three prong diamond tennis bracelet from IDJ and it is snagging on everything. I know you also have this bracelet, and I was wondering what your experience has been with it snagging? Does yours do this? Is this just to be expected with tennis bracelets? I would love to hear your thoughts on how yours has worn and how often you're able to wear it. Thanks so much!

Hi jill! :wavey: Mine does snag on things occasionally, like if I have a woollen long sleeve top on, it tends to catch on stuff like that, but no more than any other prong set piece of jewellery I own. I guess that's the nature of prong set stuff anyway? It certainly isn't enough to bother me - that said I only wear it a couple of times a week and I always take it off when I'm doing housework etc.

If it is really annoying you, is there a local jeweller you can take it to, for them to check if the prongs are 'hugging' the stones enough? Do they feel rough or jabby if you run your finger over them? The prongs on mine feel quite smooth. Then again they are probably smaller than the prongs on your bracelet as mine is just over half the ctw of yours. It's too beautiful a piece to irritate you! I am having serious bracelet envy :Up_to_something:

Thank you so much for your help! Your advice to have another jeweler check it out prompted me to pull out my loupe and look at how the prongs were finished. It appears that the prongs are protecting the diamonds, but the tips of the prongs don't look like they were rounded out very nicely which is exactly why I think they are snagging everywhere! I think I will send it back and have IDJ polish down the prongs and round them out a little better. I don't know why I didn't think of checking them before now! Thanks so much for your advice! I want to wear, love and enjoy my bracelet without fear of ruining all my clothes, towels, etc!

I am envious of your collection as well! Your trinity ring paired with your eternity band is just a classic and stunning look! This bracelet was a 10 year anniversary gift, and I almost instead purchased a trinity and eternity band to recreate your look. I do love this tennis bracelet, though. The ring of sparkling diamonds on my wrist is so fun to look at!

Thanks again! I really appreciate your thoughts!!

Hi Jill S ,
last year I ordered a 4 prong tennis bracelet from IDJ (I think it was 5ctw ) and it also snagged on everything from bedding to my clothes , I returned it .then this year I bought a bezel bracelet 4ctw from them . it does not snag on anything so I am happy .

jeweln - thanks for posting your thoughts. I keep going back and forth about keeping the three prong vs. just getting a bezel set bracelet. Are your bezels very dainty? If I went the bezel route, I'd like bezels that were very dainty and thin. Would you mind posting a few pictures of yours? I'd love to see it!

Aww you are too kind, thank you! Let me know how you go, it sounds suspiciously like you're right, that the prongs aren't properly finished. Good luck!

Hi Jill s
I am very happy with the bezel bracelet ,I wear it 24/7 ,hardly even feel it on my wrist . I just clean it once a week (some times without taking it off with a brush dipped in cleaner ! ) . I actually prefer my bezels to be a little thick . but in this case IDJ did not ask me about the bezels . I think it is a standered one but they fitted it with PS quality diamonds as I requested . mine is 4 ctw so 10/11 pointer melee , 7 inch in 14 Kt WG .if you want thinner bezels ,you can ask them to customize for you ,although they will not be as round as the standered ones I think . my pics are bad ,but is is white & sparkly .

I just want to chime in, if I may. I have a 5CTW 4-prong tennis bracelet (not IDJ) and I wear it all the time. I want to encourage you to return it to have the prong worked on. I wear mine 24/7 and it really does not snag. YOu shouldn't have to only wear it sometimes.

Hi jill, did you have any luck??

Hi! Thanks for checking back in! I sent it back to IDJ for the prongs to be polished. It's currently still there, I'm hoping to have it back by next week. I really hope that does the trick. I'm really missing the row of bling on my wrist!

jill_s, sorry to thread jack but a question for jeweln. I have the same bezeled bracelet and was wondering if your clasp has been getting loose. My tongue started slipping out and I was always pushing it back in. I figured out if I took an eye glass screw driver and turned it in the middle of the clasp it widened the tongue and it stayed tight as long as I did not take it off.

Hi Moniemarie ,
my second clasp (the one that goes over the basic one ) got loose very soon . I thought of mailing it back to IDJ but then I took it to a fast fix jewelery shop at the mall . the man there actually fixed it with his hand/finger in a minute . he did not charge me . after that the bracelet is fine .

Jill, I know this is an old thread, but how did the bracelet turn out for you? I think my new bracelet from ID Jewelry is having the same issues with snagging. Did they resolve the issue for you?

Thanks in advance!!

It is SO MUCH better now that they fixed the prong tips. I wear my bracelet nearly everyday, and I can't remember the last time it snagged on anything. Congrats on your new bracelet! What part of STL are you in? I live in WG and would love to see your collection sometime!

Thanks so much, Jill! That makes me feel a million times better. I'm sure Luann will get back to me on Monday and resolve itYou should start a thread on your bracelet! I live in Kirkwood, so we are neighboors. I think there quite a few PSers in our area. We should do a get-together!
