Okay, here is a thread where hopefully computer challenged me can learn to add an emotie to my siggy!

bat%20eyes3.gif
I was hoping to add this one, I got it from the emoties thread, can you do it with just drop and drag the emotie, or do you have to save it to your computer first?

How to have a signature with an emotie :)

I hope this makes sense :)

1) go to the personal section

2) Where there is a box for Signature add this code but remove the * and the text directing you where to place the link and add the link for the emotie that you want to use where it says Link of the emotie goes here do not remove the commas

3) and add any text you like

4) Hit Submit :)

How to get the link for an emotie :)

1) Select an emotie image from here: Emoticons in one place
2) Right click the image with your right mouse button
3) Scroll down to and select copy image location
4) In between the commas post the link either by hitting CTRL and V together or by right clicking the mouse button and scrolling down and selecting paste.

Extra Stuff

you don't have to do this though :)

Change Font colour and size
YOUR TEXT GOES HERE :D:D:D:D:D:Dfont*> remove the * to make the code work

If you want to have text appear on the next line just add before the text you want to appear on the next line (remove the * to make the code work)

Dee, thanks so much for the help! I am off to try now....

Here you go :)

For Lorelei

Just remove all the * and your good to go :), you can''t drop and drag but you don''t have to save it to your comp either :) you can just use the URL of the image and the code above to make it work :)

Good grief. Is that in English???

Blast...I right clicked the emotie but I don''t have the copy image feature, so I hit copy and nothing happened....

If that doesn''t work you can select properties and it will bring up the URL in the location box and you can copy and paste that way :)

You are DEFINITELY going to be a trend setter with this neat trick!! I wish I could figure out this stuff!

Your welcome :) it is the first site I learned from and still refer to, many people I know that are much much better then I at coding started there as well.

Hey Dee, great job!
36.gif

I agree you will set a definate trend - one question for you if you don''t mind, I cannot copy the link for my emotie. When I right click, I only get the usual plain "copy" selection on the menu, and then nothng happens when I Ctrl+V it..
any ideas?

Thats really strange, do you use firefox?

if it doesn't work that way right click the image scroll and select properties and highlight and copy the link from the pop up text box :).

ETA: if that doesn't work post the emotie and I will get the link for you :D

AJ, that is what happened to me, I use Internet Explorer and I just had the copy option, not copy image.

So if you do it that way, click on properties and get the link that way, then you add
etc without the * , then add the link?

So if you do it that way, click on properties and get the link that way, then you add < center >< br > etc without the * , then add the link?

All the purpose of that is so that you can get the URL for image

I.e The URL for this emoticon
17.gif
is http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/17.gif.

I don''t use I.E so that would explain the difference, unfortunately I don''t have it on my comp so I can''t see what your command prompts are

Once you have the link just add it where is needed in the code :).

I hope that makes sense :)
