I must have COMPLETELY missed this thread when I got back from the HM!!! I apologize...
But anyhoo, we did 1 week in Kauai w/DH''s family timeshare, and a couple days in Honolulu at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider (using DH''s hotel points) and had a blast!!
We didn''t do much at all the whole time, the big things were the helicopter ride in Kauai - I highly recommend Inter-Island tours. They are the most expensive, but they have the 4 person helis with no doors!! eek! (luckily DH was the one on the side, I was mooshed between the pilot and DH.) hehe. and they land on a private waterfall halfway during the trip - we got a whole little private swimming pool for just us and another couple. plus lunch!
Beside that was just a couple hikes and river kayaking... we actually didn''t do any snorkeling/scuba like I wanted, partly bc on Kauai it was still winter season and the water wasn''t very calm, and on Honolulu it was just after the 40days/40nites of rains and the sewage overflow problem they had, so I didn''t go into the water at all on Honolulu!! (although there were TONS of tourists on the beach... every single local we talked to said they wouldn''t even think of it!!... we trusted the locals)
Hm... other stuff... we ate a TON of poke (the fresh tuna stuff) The concierge at our hotel in Kauai recommended this little local takeout joint, and they had the absolute best poke ever... they everything fresh every day and sell until they run out. we went every day I think, and every time they were out of the pork laulau and finally we went early one morning and boy was it worth it!! yum... I''m so glad I don''t live in Hawaii because otherwise I would be SO FAT!! OMG!!
I don''t actually have that many pics, my digital kinda pooped out on me, and we only had a crappy disposable... but let''s see if I can dig them up!!

grrrrrrrr PS is not letting me upload a bunch of hte pics bc the file names are already used, and I''m too lazy to change them right now.
I just remembered - One of the highlights ofthe trip was a dinner at the Honuhonu Restaurant Honolulu. Apparently this is where all the prom kids go for dinner and stuff like that. It is on the top floor of the Waikiki Resort, I think, one of the Sheraton properties. Anyway, we got it ''free'' bc we basically sold our souls to a Starwood timeshare talk.. hehe. DH is so into these hotel points and Starwood (he travels a lot for his consulting job) and so we decided for $100 GC to any Starwood property, we would sit thru a timeshare talk - in fact, we got sucked into two! (The other gave cash, which we ran with!!)
It''s funny when I think of it, but it was only about 2 hours of our time for both timeshare talks (less than an hour each) and both were early in the morning, before we woulda got outta bed anyway, and we got $200 out of our time... man we are cheap! hehe.
Anyway, we did dinner at the Honuhonu and had a great table next to the window where we could see the sunset - it was wonderful!! and the food was fabulous too!! (and even better- it was free! hehe... )
