Tell me I'm not alone. God help me. I'm considering it. I was. Then I wasn't. Now I am.
Hubby was going to spend around 2 grand for a pendant and I think why not wait a few months till I scrounge up more to upgrade.

Here's the thing. My cushion is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. But it looks round in the setting. And certainly not a 2 ct round e/t though it's 2.14. So why not upgrade to a 2.15 - 2.4 G Vs2 or Si1 Round????????????????????????


HELP! Are you all as crazy as I am? How often is too often? :)

). the cut cornered squares *do* look round once they are set. and smaller rounds at that! a new 2+ ct. sparkly rb would be amazing! i think you would be extremely happy once you did (do) it!

The price hikes have had me thinking...for a few months now. There is a sweet stone that I have had my eagle on for a few months now as well. But I just can't justify it right now...it's not as though I have a tiny stone that I don't notice

...and I just had an upgrade a few months ago! But the price hikes....rumor was 20% but now I have heard that it's more like 5-10%. Which is not as detrimental as 20% could be on a larger stone.

I'm still thinking about it but honestly I think I will pass for now...I have other 'projects' I'd like to work on this year and if I upgrade now, I blow all those away...since I'm only SO spoiled yanno.

There have to be limits to the insanity.

For me I don't think I REALLY want it, bad enough to turn down other things I'd like to get this year. If I did, I would beg, borrow and steal to have it. Or just go without other fun things...but I don't think so. I'll take my chances next year...I only hope I don't regret it! So do what you won't REGRET. That's the important part mentally I think..not sitting there going...OH BUT IF.

Oh and I reserve the right to change my mind!

As for Mr. Man, he just told me he is having a very difficult time getting his hands on well cut goods > 2 cts, so I am not holding my breath...plus he knows I am happy....BUT he does have 2 perfectly matched 5 ct stones (TDW = 10+ cts) he has set as earrings now--but he will sell them seperately...Ideal cuts, VS1 and VVS2, F & G... Shall I tell him to hold one for you?

If you want to do it then do it, plain and simple. I do love your ring, but if you want a round then go for it. Hurry cause prices are going up and are going to be insane. I upgraded and am happy I did.

In all seriousness (and I haven''t even had any wine tonight if you can believe it), Kaleigh said it best. Do you want the look of an RB andnin a larger size? If so, now may be a good time to do it if you find a nice stone. Do what''s in your heart.

I am not a huge jewelry person either but I do have a few things in mind...so I figure the next step in my upgrade can wait (maybe?!)...esp since for me it''s not the dream stone..but just the next step towards it. Oh but it would be a very nice step. No. Musn''t look.

Changing out your cushion for a round would be a huge step!! What if you don''t like the round.

Yes, I agree. . . changing to a round stone is a HUGE transition. This is a decision that you may want to wait on for a bit. Who cares about price hikes. . .I think it''s better to pay the additional cost at a time when you know you''re making the RIGHT choice.

Why not buy an interlap for less than $20 and have it set into a white gold setting just so you can play around a bit and see if you like this shape on your finger?

I just bought a bigass fake in a different shape to appease any desire I might ever have for bigger. I know Ryan wants to make a major upgrade in the future, Im not super eager to do that, mine is a good size as it is.

Maybe buy yourself a bigass fake from QVC and use that as your upgrade. If you buy one of those "platinum clad" things you can wear it a lot more and pass it off as real.

(mine comes today, I hope by lunch so I can go home and get it.)

But what I'm hearing is that I"m the only psycho out there LOL

My ring looks SO round when set and I've tried fakies on and they are really pretty. I've got man hands no matter what I do so it doesn't matter! But I can't do a fake for everyday. Just doesn't feel right. Have no problem with my cz studs or any other costume stuff...but I just can't do the e-ring. Dunno why.

Darn these italics!!! I just like em big !!!!!!! Rounds *do* look biggest!

Hubby was fine with another upgrade in the future...but he said not "tomorrow"....SO, it's def going to happen ...maybe in March for our anniv. I'll see if there are any cushions that come out with good depths or a nice juicy round

I'm totally fine with an Si1...but it HAS to be 10000000000% eye clean dancing fire! I think it would be a-ok!

Okay, you guys have me really worried now. When is this rumored price hike suppose to happen? Do I need to get my upgrade RIGHT NOW...or can I wait say until next April (tax return time hee hee).
 
jaysonsmom...we have heard conflicting things but supposedly it will happen sometime in the next few months, probably a little bit longer to reach consumers, and i heard it would affect any diamonds over 1c. at first i heard 20% increase, which sent me scrambling to ask the vendors, who noted something around 5-10% but it''s not set in stone i guess. so who really knows...guess we will see.
 
Decision has been made. I'm passing on the pendant and am going to upgrade within the next 6 mo. #1 in a perfect world is my stone but a F or G and with a depth under 64. Not asking for too much! #2 is a 2.25-2.5 G Si1 round.

I am pretty sure I"m not only psycho out there :)
