I love this dress. I found it on eBay. It is several sizes too small for me. I love it. So, I either have to find it elsewhere or lose a lot of weight by May (probably).

I e-mailed the seller, but have not heard back yet.

Have you seen this dress or anything like it?

Oh, and for those of you who may remember my prior posts, we are no longer planning to get married outside. We are looking for a nice countryside stone chapel. We''ve narrowed it down to Croatia or New Zealand, I think.

is the jacket a sewn on part of the dress, or is it a separate thing that just goes with the dress? If it''s the latter perhaps you can find a similar jacket somewhere to put over a simple dress?

Thanks, PJ. I think it's part of the dress. I think I just really like the sleeves of it, the french cuff, sort of thing with the short sleeves. I should probably go with a simple dress and a nice jacket, that are separates, like you suggest. I have this thing though, that if the dress comes with the jacket, that it's meant to be worn with a jacket vs. pairing separates. I know it is just a wacky idea I have in my head, and I need to just get over it.

ok, seeing it from the back I think you''re right, it does look like it''s part of the dress. And I just realized but I never said, I think it really is a lovely dress!

I don''t think it''s all that wacky, I think it''s kinda like how I really wanted a dress with straps, and although you can add straps to almost any dress, once I''ve seen the dress without straps, I can''t imagine how it would look with them, and I''d worry that it wouldn''t be right. It''s kinda ridiculous because many people have added straps or even full sleeves to their dresses and they''re beautiful! It''s just that once I try the dress on, I can''t picture it any other way... Maybe you just need people to show you the dresses and jackets together without letting you see/know that they aren''t meant to go together! :)

Anyways, hopefully you''ll be able to find it somewhere in the right size, or maybe someone here on PS can find it. I''ll look around, but I''m not so great at finding things it seems.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the dress!! I just noticed the buttons going down the back of the jacket part. I love that.

Hopefully, the seller will write back to me soon and then I can stop asking PS''ers for help finding it.

Hi LV, out of curiosity, is the seller called "Fabulous Gowns" or something like that, with the location as Van Nuys? I bought a wedding dress from them, and while it was fine for the price I paid, it was clearly a cheap knockoff of a designer dress. The color was much yellower than it looked in their photo too. Some of their items are designer, and they'll usually tell you that in their description. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. If it's not them, ignore me!

PS-I think it's a really cute dress, by the way!

Thanks for the heads up, Selkie! No, it''s an individual who says she bought it, but then wore a shorter dress. What did you do with your Fabulous Gowns dress? Were you able to return it? Did you get another dress?

I have seen many lovely dresses on eBay, that look like they are made to order, but made in China. From the feedback, people seem to love these dresses, but I would be too nervous that the fabric would not be up to par. For example, this one is lovely:

I found another dress in a salon that I liked better and I ended up selling it on eBay!

I LOVE that dress you just posted. Seeing made me think of my initial "dream dress" which was by Jacquelin Exclusives and had a vintage look with lace and cap sleeves, so I went to their site to try and find it. However, it was in the 2005 collection, and isn''t on there anymore. Anyway, in their 2008 collection, they have this, which looks A LOT like the one you posted: Jacquelin style 9802

Wow, how strikingly similar!! That''s kind of funny. No wonder the ebay dress is so stylish.

What dress will you (or did you) wear at your wedding?

This whole bridal gown industry is really, really super-overwhelming!!

The way it is being displayed looks like the same manner that elegantbride.com displays their dresses. They have a black mannequin and black background so all you see is the dress. Try them.
