I have all my directions typed out on a Microsoft word document 8x11 paper, but I need to make some kind of inserts for my invitations. I was thinking I could type something up and take it to Kinkos or Office Max to print them out but truly, I have no idea the best way to do this, or even if MS Word is the best program to use. I dont want anything fancy but i dont want to fold a huge 8x11 piece of paper in fours and stuff them in the invites. Maybe just a card or two or even a smaller paper folded in half?

you''d think my COMPUTER geek fiance would help me but he''s MIA tonight! grrr....

You can certainly take it to Kinko''s and have them print it onto a smaller card that will fit into your invitations & envelopes easily. You might just want to save what you have on disk & take it to Kinko''s & talk to them about what you''re wanting to do - they''re usually pretty helpful. I think a card (maybe printed on both sides if need be - like one side with written directions, the other with a printed map if you''ve got it) would be better than folded paper.

I know there is a way to do it. My mom prints out these little things for her business, that are a quarter sheet of paper. Then she gets them printed 4 to a page and kinkos cuts them in four for her.

Pnp-
Assuming that you want approx 1/4 page inserts -
What you need to do is change the formatting in Word so that you have two columns;
Go to Format, Columns, select 2

This should automatically shift what existing text you have to one side. They you just adjust the font size/etc.. the way you like so that it fits in about 1/4 of the page, and copy it 3 times.

You might wnat to adjust the margins (Menu, Page setup) to make it look more even.

Then just print it and take it to kinkos and have them photocopy it on nice paper, or whatever. Then use the big paper cutter and cut them all!

If you have any problems just PM me and you can send me the file and I can fix it for you, no problem, should only take a few minutes.

thank you! that helps a lot! :)

My other suggestion would be to use word, go to tools, then mailing options. Go to envelopes & labels, then options. There you will find all the templates for postcards, name badges and such that often print 4 to page. The margins will be set correctly- just type what you want on one card and copy to the others. I use it for direction cards for business functions all the time! and you can order the actual card sheets already perforated from staples.com to make it even easier.

Good luck!

another way to do it is just make whatever you want on one page, copy it so that you have four pages, then in your print options, you can choose a 4-page layout (you can also halve the sheet with a 2-page layout), where it prints 4 pages on one 8.5x11 sheet of paper. i''m sure kinkos or an copy place can change that option for you as well before they print.
