Can anyone help me with these two amber items?

Can anyone help me with these two amber items? I bought them about 1982 2nd hand from a market stall in Southampton. They are pieces of amber enclosed in thin metal rings, don't think they are silver. When I bought them they were not on a chain, I put them on one to wear. I've always been intrigued by them, have never seen anything like them and even Googling them does not bring up anything similar. Are they some kind of charm, or amulet? Can anyone shed any light on them?

I love Amber specimens and I personally think they are overlooked! Those are really interesting and maybe contained in a nickel metal?

Yes nickel sounds about right. I love them, they are very unusual! I wear them on a long chain and fiddle with them like worry beads!

Amber is such a cool gem.......unfortunately I didn't find anything like what you have. I love the organic nature of your pieces.....continue to 'worry' with them and enjoy them!!
