Can I get away with a modern band?

So I have a half eternity band I want to resize and use with my diamond ring but it is set with small MRB’s, while my ring is an OMC. The colours are almost there, I can bear the slight difference (band is G/H, diamond ring is I/J) but I don’t know if it just looks ridiculous, what with them being such different stones? Any advice would be appreciated! Edited to add apologies for the awful quality of pictures, they were taken from a video so look a bit smooshy!

Thank you! I keep saying I’ll do something with that ring but then I end up wearing it! I think it’s meant to be kept as is, I love the way it’s a mix of stones from different eras. I think I’ll resize the band for now until my wallet allows!

Personally, there's just too many differences between the two rings - sizes seem not proportional, color is not similar, width is not similar, style is not similar.

I'd personally prefer seeing how a narrower channel band similar to the Tiffany Channel would look.

I get that, and I’m that’s what was holding me back. I have a gorgeous 1920’s delicate Art Deco engraved band that I’m afraid to size, as it has a beautiful inscription inside and milligram edging as well as etching on the band. I’m hoping to find someone here who can size it sympathetically! I think I’ll size the diamond band for now though and see if I like it!

Would you consider looking for an inexpensive band by posting in the preloved section?

Honestly? I think the channel set band really takes away from the beauty of your OMC ring (which is gorgeous).

A narrow plain band, perhaps patina'd / engraved, would complement the OMC ring so much better.

Thanks for the responses! I will dig out the other band, it is much more in keeping with the solitaire ring but I want to try and keep the detail! The last person I brought it in to who was supposed to be the recommended person was a bit blazè about keeping the details!
