Can I get elaborate engraving added to a gold band?

Hi everyone! If I purchased a very heavy nice quality 18k domed gold band would someone like David Klass be willing to put elaborate engraving on it or is it insulting not to buy the ring from him? TIA

@1964pandora I have seen several people here get that done with David klass. Don't quote me, but I think it runs $100-150. Well worth it, their engraving is amazing.
Just email DK (super nice people. )

@1964pandora -

If you're being budget conscious, check with DKJ that they can't actually make the ring for the same price, or better. They can make it whatever thickness you want, which is a nice thing to be able to stipulate. They can also do things like surprise stones / birth stones for you and hubby-to-be on the inside.

Oh, I just reread that you haven't already bought the band! I definetly agree with MrsB, get a quote from them before you buy! Their prices are really good. They just made an engraved platinum band for me, quoted the price and I asked them, "That's all? Are you sure?" I couldn't believe the great price.

Oh great! I was looking at 18k gold bands on ewedding rings and I can get a domed HEAVY gold ring for a great price. If I can get the same quality from DK then I will get it from him

I keep saying engraving but I mean etching all of that elaborate decoration on the outside of a ring.

Or do I mean engraving? All the little leaves, design etc on the outside. I want a statement 18k good band wider than just a 2 mm maybe up to 6

But that doesn't seem quite right to me. I want it a little more feminine like this

That's engraving ;)2

Thank you. My fiancé corrected me and he was wrong lol. He said people would think I'm asking about what you write on the inside of the ring.

Then there are Mrsb's raised leaves...

the one in the middle kind of looks filigree. There's also sculpted, which is deeper engraving, or the type where the elements are soldered / applied on, like the leaves you liked.

Sorry I've made a mess of my posts. The other style I'm trying to emulate is the middle one below

Sometimes you have to be patient with DKJ, especially going into the busy holiday season, but it is worth it! If You don't get ar reply in a few days. Email again, sometimes they miss email...

It also helps them if you have photos of what you want. So you have homework to do now!

IMG_8761.PNG Yes you've read my mind. Wouid be happy having someone make this one too.

I adore scroll engraving, and I am almost certain his engraver does that.

I think this band belonged to SimoneD:

Picture of more of his engraved rings, and some are wider. I love the top and bottom ones the most. I'd really like to make one wide band, too!

Sorry I need to learn to upload photos correctly. I think I've learned that I'd like a raised pattern

You can also try asking Ivy & Rose Vintage for a quote if you don’t hear back from DK. Their engraving and filigree bands are also very nice.

Hey there! I'm not sure if by ewedding rings you mean e-weddingbands.com but there was a recent thread response here indicating that the domed "heavy" bands aren't as thick as they used to be. If this is your source be sure to check all the measurements including thickness to make sure it's what you're envisioning :)

Thank you for the info.

Wow - I just looked up the eweddingbands site. The heavy comfort fit rings used to be 2.3mm thick. They're now 1.7mm. That's a huge difference. I bought the yellow and rose gold ones - both 18kt - when they were 2.3mm. I love them both, and wouldn't have bothered if they'd been 1.7mm. Nothing particularly heavy about 1.7mm. Even their regular comfort fit used to be 1.8mm. So this has dropped waaaaay off.

So, am I looking for engraving or sculpting???
These are my inspiration photos for DK.
Hope this is not too much of a highjack! :saint:
