Hi All!

I am trying to hone in on my setting as I search for the PERFECT PEAR, and would love to see your 3 stones... I am interested in angles and placement of the side stones. If you have Pears for sides that would be a plus. I really prefer the sides be really tucked and angled, I find if they aren't tucked the Pear side stones give that "dutch boy" effect...or look like wings, JMO.

TIA!

Lots of 3 stones here...

and here

Unfortunately mostly rounds and not pears :-(

3 stone, all pears
(go to post #37 for a finger shot...very pretty)

Thank you @tyty333! Yes, I have been checking out 1st Dibs! I love how everything is sooo over priced :lol-2: So much inspo though!

So my Pear is 13.62x 8.09, so she is long and spready! And I definitely want chubby, shorter pears on the sides, rather than long, I just don't love that look for side pears.

You can use the diamdb.com tool to try some different side stone sizes. Also need to take into account that the side pears will be at a
slant (which will make them appear shorter).

The other way I use the tool (I've been looking at a 3 stone for myself with rounds), you can use the ring width setting to picture what
size width of pear side stone might look good with your pear by setting the ring width to the width of the side pear. You have to use
your imagination of course but its one more tool to help give some idea of size to use for side stones.

For example...

Your pear is 13.62x8.09 so set that as the first stone. Find a pear side stone that you think might work like...

(its 1.45 ratio, .7 7.28x5.23...set that up as your second option)

Here it is with a 2.3mm shank on the ring

Now move the ring width to the width of the side pear and you get an idea of what the fat end of that pear would look like
next to your pear...

Ok, so that is supposed to be a pear that I drew in blue next to your stone but you get the idea. You can play around with the
ring width to get an idea of how wide you would like your pears to be. If this isn't helpful, please
disregard.

I think side stones in the 4.8 width would look good but only you can decide what you want for your setting!

Ok, so I chatted with Yekutial… and he was pretty adamant on the .30’s especially given my ring size is 4.25. But, being the gentleman that is he is, he procured my desired specs and shared with me… He sent me the following pic which I will show you. At first, I was leaning towards the .50’s… but I showed my hubby and my family, without sharing my own opinion…Just collecting data, and they ALL, separately and unanimously agreed o the .30’s. So that’s where we landed. We are off to CAD production! Here is the inspo pic I shared… except no hidden Diamond halo.

Also, I appreciated that the .30’s were all GIA certified, the .50’s were not and also added another $2k to the setting. I’m REALLY comfortable with the budget. We are actually significantly under budget! It is all just falling in alignment!

I hope my PS friends love and approve!

The pic of the 3 diamonds in the box shows the .50 on the left and .30 on the right!

This looks stunning! I am creating a 3 stone ring right now, and I am a 4.25 and named my ring "brass knuckles" so there's that look!!

I cant wait to see it completed!! I love pears and feel they are underrepresented here so you need to post tons of pics !!
